YOUR extra at Legends…

OK,
Trying to cool off some of our over excited members – time for a game of ‘Fantasy Legends’.

What ONE aircraft, CURRENTLY flying anywhere in the world, wouldd YOU bring to Legends, and why.

For Smug points, you may chose something that’s going to be there…

Cheers / Salut

PS Who knows, it there’s enough votes, you might persuade Steven G that’s your heart’s desire is the best bet for 2005…

what more can one ask for?

Indeed you are fortunate.

Answers are:
Any of the above.
Better weather (I hope this isn’t required)
See something like the I-15 at a venue which doesn’t confuse biplanes with mosquitoes (The malerial kind). I’d very much hope to see the Russian at Old Warden, where those of us NOT indulging in the lens arms race of Robbo, MOTF Damien et al can a) see and b) photograph said machines. DX is a venue unkind to the smaller machines I feel. BUT – I’m glad it’s there…

Either

Mossie, P38, Dauntless, Helldiver or I-16 Rata.

But seeing an I-15, P39, Super Connie and JB’s Sea Fury at the same show; what more can one ask for?

Ooops!!! Sorry, Mark. It is getting near bedtime and I was making my cup of cocoa! Ther can only be ONE choice here. That’s the Seafire 47, Seafire 47 and more Seafire 47.

Yes please. I’ll have to do some swift packing if that’s the case!

The Sunderland – but I hope the weather will not allow it to land!

Jets – no they won’t, otherwise I would have voted for Llanbedr’s Meteor D.16

Only ever saw a B24 fly once; Diamond Lil, chugging her way across the sky one afternoon as I was working on the site of the former USAAF base at Kimbolton. Totally unexpected, and spine-tinglingly wonderful.

Ahem. Back to the topic. What one currently airworthy aircraft would I want to see at Legends? No contest, the Stormbirds Me262.

Great question JDK. ๐Ÿ™‚

B-24, no doubt about that.
Can’t believe the good old Lib only got one mention so far, somewhere at the end of a post. Do you all get commission from Boeing, or what?

Oooh!

Good one.

Gets my vote.

Think I’d be another one for Fifi or Glacier Girl.

Then again, if it was for this year it would have to be ME. Looks like it’s going to be a good one.

CWH Lanc or FIFI, now there’s a decision!

OK I’ll have both.

(Steve Patterson, Southern Cross would be nice!)

How about a Douglas A26 – are there any airworthy?

A quick count shows approxamately 25 airworthy, with almost all over here on the left side of the pond.

Zero. Is the PoF Zero (proper engine – not US substitution) airworthy? That’d be cool.

Photo taken at the Chino Annual Airshow, May 2004:

Thatยดs the original Zero with the Nakajima Sakae 21 engine.
