The hawks interior colour is curtis interior green.
It is very different from the standard U.S interior green.

Shouldn’t we be seeing your life size cardboard replica of a French Château somewhere on the horizon?
Mark
Is there an echo on here?
See post 34.;)
We are talking about PS853?
Flying this year?
Er……ok,…..If you say so.
that’s the wrong grey…………….
Better the wrong grey, than the wrong Dark Earth eh?
:dev2:
Having seen the aircraft close up and had a tour round it with Mr Roob, i can only echo the comments here that it really is fantastic.
Having a browse through the research photos standing next to the aircraft i have to say it is spot on.
Well done to all at Arco, cant wait to see it fly.
Just need to build that french chateau at the end of the airfield now…..;)
Even sadder! It was G-AWHI/”Yellow 4+-” and it also had smoke pots and was the only aircraft known to have fully rounded wingtips fitted and they were in bare metal. I have pictures of it at Lydd in August ’68. Sorry can’t post due to copyright. Septic also has pictures of it in France with rounded tips but didn’t have an ID until my pictures showed up. How’s that for an answer 🙂

You really must get out of that shed in the garden more often.;)
Has there been anymore news on the fighter collection and if they can fly this year at Legends etc or are the CAA still doing whatever they were doing last year?
curlyboy
No.
Good point Bruce.
Er….. from what i have been told 915 has its wings off for insp as well.
But what do i know.
Thanks for a great set of pictures.
I have a question about the Sea Fury. Never noticed before the big ‘hole’ in the structure of the fin – is it there for a reason?
Roger Smith.
To remove the tailplane.
When we restored Spitfire SM969 we found some very interesting notes left inside the skin work.
Also found a BA spanner inside EP120 when we picked her up from St Athan.
Now i need to check with Mr MK 12 but im sure the Mk VIII had a novel feature , the main tank was semi rigid.
Mark?
Didn’t some of the Griffon-engined variants have extra fuel tanks in the leading edges of the wings, just inboard of the cannons/undercarriage?
Correct, all late mark griffon Spitfires/ Seafires did have leading edge tanks.
Ah! The old dummy gun bay trick.
“are you sure it’s not a tease ? – there are a few jokers amongst the FC people.”
Mark
Shocking.
