pre-preggers find it hard to export resins that are are 20+ years old to places like china because they are deemed to be enabling technologies.

If india goes in for a fibre factory it might have to come up with its own chemistry or go through the long process of manufacturing the fibre, and giving it to the people who made the pre-pregs for the prototypes and let them preg it into tapes and send it back.

The thing that is confusing me is that I doubt if the LCA team would like to get into the hassle of certifying new materials on a project which is already delayed. but yet if they make their own fibres they will have to certify them.

My point was not to forget the politics but to put it aside to explain the need for more advance types by the West (i.e. Europe or US). As for selling weapons to Pakistan you have a point to a degree. While the US is selling fairly advance F-16’s to Pakistan. That would be small in comparison to Indian orders of US Equippment in the future. (i.e. C-130, P-8’s, MCRA) Remember, the F-16 being sold to Pakistan are small in number and not as advance. Basically, a reware for there support on the War on Terrorism. If, India does receive Super Hornets they will be in far greater numbers an way more advance (AESA APG-79 Radar, F414 (EDE) Engines, etc.) Like it or not I believe a Major Military Shift between the US and Indian is just around the corner………………….IMO

nothing because India cant fight in Afghanistan, its too close to home and heart and the US wouldnt allow its ally being surrounded.

As for iraq the Indians cant really be of much help their either as a vote and motion has already been put in place disallowing the use of Indian soldiers outside of Legal UN missions.

MBDA Refutes Misleading Reports Regarding Its Cooperation with India

The 18th September 2006 issue of Defense News claims that MBDA will be supporting a series of Indian missile programmes, specifically the Sagarika cruise missile as well as the Prithvi and Agni theatre missile systems.

MBDA categorically refutes these totally erroneous claims which were neither checked nor verified with MBDA by either of the two journalists responsible for the article.

What is accurate in the article is that MBDA has indeed agreed with India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to support a number of anti-tank and air defence programmes.

The quotes attributed to Indian and French diplomatic sources in the article are highly misleading in that they do not specifically mention the programmes involved. This has undoubtedly served to confuse readers about MBDA’s actual area of cooperation with the DRDO, a cooperation which is fully compliant with not only French but also all international agreements.
