The F-16 engines could be for the F-17, to sell to pakistan.. Would make sence i am assuming the sizes are about the same prob a bit more powerfull then what is currently on the F-17.

Ripples are bad because they, like other discontinuities in an electrical plane, generate a standing wave normal to the surface at each discontinuity. That standing wave reflects incoming RF back to the threat radar.
SOC, cheers i hadnt got that update. I had been of the opinion that the leading edge was designed like a low amplitute sin/cos wave to reduce the radar returns to aircraft scanning head on.

With reference to ripples what i meant was a Type of long wavelength waveform pattern that is NOT like the ripples shown on the Alli aircraft skins, but more like a purpose designed feature with a very shallow waveform, similar to the one proposed many years ago to give aircraft extra lift negate the need for fences etc…

1) It was not uncomman in those days for either side to spy on each other and try to get the blue prints i know for a fact the Europe would have done the same using satelite photos etc to acertain the performance of Soviet aircraft to design something more potent and the soviets would have done the same.

Doesnt the B-2 have a rippled/corrugated leading edge to reduce its frontal cross section? are people sure that the ripples or corrugations shown on the F-117 are not design features to reduce the capabilities of radar to lock onto it?
As for seeing ripples in composite structures, yes you would but if the ripples are that big then you have a problem with your processing, unless you are using some non traditional means of manufacturing your panels like leaving them in the sun to bake.

What are you talking about? The lift fan isn’t a turbojet like the lift jets in Russian designs. Even those aren’t unique as several countries have used them including France, the UK, and Germany in test vehicles.
