Whats with the 300 KM international standards, I think they should come up with the Bhramos-I, with more fuel capacity to 600 – 800 KM.

God knows why India should follow it, i say stick the Brahmos on a prithvi or even a rocket booster from the pinaka trials.

Why cant they start flight schools using Yaks or Makos’ let the airforce continue as a school and generate its own revenue. it would let kids in NZ grow up knowing that some day they could fly too ..

From one end of the scale to the other,
    the 16m Halmatic VSV http://www.vosperthornycroft.co.uk/halmatic/product.asp?itemID=414&catid=92
    and the DD(X) multi-mission destroyer http://www.ddxnationalteam.com/

Is it me or is the DD(X) starting to look like a Imperial Star Destroyer out of Star Wars:)

Is it me or does the DD(x) look a bit like the Iron clad? maybe they had the armour right in during the civil war.

    Huh,

Why do you keep talking about RCS ! we are talking about RADAR SIGNATURE! the thing they can use for COUNTER COUNTER Electronic warfare! something indian cannot afford to give away!

Guys, I am not undermining the importance of RCS of any aircraft , What I am trying to say is that USAF has more that one means to find of RCS of any aircraft.

And It works the other way too , if they find out the RCS of our MKI, MIrage or 29, we can equally fing out the RCS of F-16,F-15 and so on.

I dont think these think comes up even in their mind , unless its a Real LO aircraft like F-117 or B-2 or other , Even during Airshows lots of aircraft visit many countries you can find out the RCS of the A/C

Also if they learn tactics from our guys and how to counter them , it works vice verse , if they dont operate certain components , well its posible we dun bring our own sensitive equip. As I said every airforce knows to protect its secret well.

In the end lets leave that to the professionals , If we are aware of such thing I am sure the IAF is more aware of it , and if they thought that it was such a critical issue, they wouldnt have brought the MKI on the table.

About the F-22 , well there was a news some time back that the USAF was keen to have F-22 vs Su-30MKI , It will happen down the line.

Matt , radar signature is not a big problem , US has many other ways to find the RCS of our MKI , Take this exercise from a Professional point of view , The IAF will learn about the advanced F-16 tactics and skills required to counter it and also develop professional relationship with the USAF.

Most likely we would field the Su-30MKI-MK1 , what US will learn is again skills and tactics to counter the Su , specially the one with our eastern neighbour ( with taiwan around these things can happen ) , again develop a sprit of friendship and professional respect for the IAF which they do have.

We should not go paranoid with every MKI encounter with the Yankies , similar encounter of the MKI-MK1 will take place with the F-16I and the Rafale again all in good spirit.

If these exercise can hone our professional skills as well as the prof skill of the other parties involved it should be encouraged and well every airforces knows best how to protect its secrets .

Radar signature is important and so are the tactics, the Us has more to gain from this then us, let them bring the F-22 to the table and India can be serious about learning but F-16s? So not only will the US will have Radar signatures they will also have know how of how to use F-16’s against India!

    again i say ULLUUUSSS!

Great idea to put in Su-30MKI’s against F-16’s .. since its such an advanced aircraft..

cant wait for the US to give the Radar signatures to Pakistan and for Pakistan to give them to China and who ever else wants them.

    Uuuullooo’s

I guess the USA and UK intelligence (i say that with greatest of disdain) services have to find a reason for the deaths they caused of their own countrymen.

…..research share of Boeing for example the wing box is made in Japan by Mitsubishi simply because Japan has more experience than Boeing in Carbon-fiber composites that saves time and money since the japanese have already the tooling and machinery for such kind of job[/B]

Doesnt say much to be honest, Boeing Hasnt really been keeping up with the world building its 747s all this time. Maybe their may not be a boeing civil aviation section in a few years time.
