The ship launched Brahmos’ range: What range does the Oniks have? If Brahmos has the same dimensions and weight as Oniks, the stated range of the Brahmos is pretty moot. It might be more prudent to go with the Oniks’ range.
It might have the same dimensions but what about the internal structure of it ? its not a given that if something has the same dimensions it would autmatically have the same range.. What engines were used? what speeds were they to cruise at? does Brahmos have more or less sensors ? how big are the respective onboard navigational sensors ?
What type of explosives are used in the respective washeads ?
WOW great pics.. what ISO did you use and what F/stop ? did you have to get any special metering equipment or telephoto lens?
max i have is a 300mm from a SLR and , 380 from my digi but its not the same because the sensor size is soo small..
Thanks again for the pics!
*drools..
I see in the Farnborough line there is no mention of Eurofighter. There are two at RIAT. Two were flown out to Malaysia but they can’t make Farnborough? ๐
mmitch.
farnborough is the most cloudiest dullest place in the world maybe the Flight computers cant cope with it and are going to a sunnier climate to get away from it all..
soem one might have just omitted it also..
Didnt BAe systems or was it some one else..hm.. didnt they have Extraction/Insertion pods ? to be carried on Tornado’s or something ?
nice pics JA!
hmm i would think the Australians would give higher priority to a carrier based power projection force since apart from new zealand most potential problems could happen at a large distance from the mainland.
Why not get BAe Australia to develope something similar to the SEA WOLF ? and use it as a UCAV/LACM platform?
When I was on board the “George Washington” and asked the same question, I was told “in excess of 30 knots” as the exact top speed is of course classified.
its probably a case of, if the winds allow and dependin on the oceao current and the sub current we can go in excess of 30knots. i doubts its anything glamorous..
the question isn’t about the top speed, but what’s the structural rigidity of that thing ๐ฎ This reminded me of someone saying China building carriers because they build supertankers :rolleyes:
no please dont get that started again!
Possible upgrades?
RAM coating, GLONAS/GPS guided ammo, Al-41 engines, maybe AESA
don’t see any place for much more here…
the MKI would be RAM coated already, maybe an different material might be used down the line to have a broader frequancy range but who knows..
same with RIAT..
it should get the new pak fa engine and radar as well as new plasma stealth when it comes out
if you search the thread you will find some place a article stating that PLASMA stealth is not that viable for hiding a aircraft. but it could be used in the nose cone to cut radar imissions.
There will be more cause for celebration as the Tattoo marks the significant birthdays of two stalwarts of international aviation, the Hawk and the Hercules, and salutes the world-famous Red Arrows, as they embark on their 40th display season. Meanwhile, the operational theme Fighter 04 will bring together some of the worldโs greatest frontline aircraft, including the Hunter, F-15, F-16, Tornado, Sea Harrier, the Mirage 2000 and Typhoon, in an unforgettable display of air defence and air superiority capabilities.
Will be there on Saturday too
Hope your bringing your camera ..
Have they decided to go with this solution until the ATV comes online ?
ICBM ?
I thought the furthest planed was to be Surya ?
Maybe AVATAR can perform a similar role ?
It is from a ship and those retracting claws would be difficult to put into a submarine at best.
IIRC, ‘pre-emptive defence’ were the same justifications nazi germany and imperial japan used to invade other nations and started WWII.
as for japan learning from WWII, well of course they learnt something, the question is, what?
is it, ‘war is bad’?
~~~~~~~~~~~SNIP~~~~~~~~~~~~~
time changes some things, but some things still remain the same. many of the same needs and wants that drove japan to war 50 years ago are still as strong as ever.
PLAWOLF please re-read your own post especially the bottom line….
the first question you should have asked is ‘how do you know there are aliens?’ ๐ secondly, i never said all aliens are bad (if any exist that is).
as for the debate about whether invading aliens are good or evil. will, go and look up the word ‘invasion’ and i’m sure you can work it out from there. ๐
sorry mate bad responce on my part but the whole “EVIL COMMIIEE” thing gets annoying.. I have not seen the use of that term to addresse the Chinese here in the UK and the first time i heard it was on this forum by GD himself. No need for it. No one thinks of China in those terms. (no one i know) people are weary of it specially governments but they have a reason to be it is one of the fastest growing economies with one of the biggest armed forces.
