If that was the case then you can brand every single nation on the planet a potential aggressor and Evil dooer..
please use less rhetoric ..
Sounds a lot like trolling.
why is it trolling? because i want to compare a upgraded Mig-21 to the LCA? why are you being defensive ?
Why not compare the two! if one is going to be replacing the other then why not! how many times have we had comparisons of the Super hornet and the F-14 or the Superhornet and the hornet. no one was charged with trolling then.
This isnt BR and this attitude is one of the biggest reasons i dont post in BR ..
interesting points GD, however i fear you are only wasting your time by replying to vortex, nothing short of ‘the evil red commies’ saving the world from alien invasion would convince him that the chinese arent an american-blood thusty evil race out to destroy all that is good and pure in the world.
how do you know all aliens are bad? and how do you know if the invasion would be good or bad??? 😡
LoL. So what? Since when is it a neccesity to replace an aircraft with one of similar capabilties? Does this mean that the Dhruv won’t be that much better than the Chetak, it replaces? 😀
Also, who told you that the MiG-21 would be replaced on a one for one basis? The IAF has a requirement for 220 LCAs.
Once again, that does’nt mean that the IAF should “relax”
i am sorry did i say it will be like for like and equall quantity ??? let me check..
hmm i am sorry again it seems that my post didnt actually have an specifics.. ooops!
saying that i wonder how the LCA would fair against the bison.
Historic precedence predicts a Japanese sneak attack not a Chinese commie one.
Yup !!
I live quite near Fairford – about 15 miles as the crow flies.
It all looks a bit bleak though – aircraft participation and weather-wise!
Ken
I will see you at fairford then , i am gonna stay at a friends and then coming on the saturday.
I am the one looking lost wondering what the aircraft are called..lol 🙂
k is thats so i take it back, but let me tell u guys that even after dumping so many dollars there u just can’t wait for our needs??? …… how wud the Isreali’s feel when we now pull out of the Phalcon and go in for a joint development for the A-50 with AESA and also make it clear that we don have to need an Isreali stuff and spedn the same monet here for developing an idegenious stuff …. u guys are really $ucked up coz no other ones gives u the kind of pocket that India is spending on acquiring ur stuffs, and i f u guys thinks that theie is no alternative, then thats simply a wet dream, …. and the Phalcon deal has stretched so long just coz of American pressure, in that time we cud have said that get lost we don ned it, but it was the political consideration along with the IAF’s needs that we put on with that ….
and again abt the report, k is thats uneliable, so be it, i from now on wont give a damn to it, but what IF that happend to be the truth later on??….
and yo, atleast Isreali’s sud known what Blackcat means to their largest importer or weapons … well curse, well what can i say my friend?? … i don want to make u remember what they say abt those who did not hear the ‘messengers’ words …. well I rest my case here no more on this one!
BLACKCAT no official sources have been noted in the post and you are just feeding a flamebait thats all mate.
and i dont think EREZ has much say in matters such as what you are discussing leave the poor guy alone ..lol.
now tell me will you be going to any airshows in India and will you be posting pictures of them for us?
Oops, my bad!
http://vayu-sena-aux.tripod.com/pix/afd2003fdr-searcher2-1.jpg
is surely a Searcher-2. How could I miss the shorter wingspan, the non retractable undercarriage, longer fuselage etc 😮 🙁
could it be because the link doesnt work ?
I thought the main aim of the LCA is to replace the Mig-21’s and considering the number of Mig-21’s that the InAF has in service i doubt they or the ADA would go for a super duper tech aircraft, having said that i also doubt that they would go and shoot themselves in the proverbial foot by designing and building an aircraft that does not atleast equal what its rival fields and although the government line is different we know that PAF is the target of it.
People will reply to this by saying well the InAF is big and Hi-Fi it doesnt need to worry about the PAF etc etc.. and in reality it is thinking of the PLAAF. to them i just want to point out that statistically we are more likely to be flying against the PAF then the PLAAF..
also do bare in mind that most statistics are made up on the spot.
i guess no one else is going from this forum.. shame really..
well i will be their and i shall be with my camera and taking pictures just a bit saddened that its a showcase for the US industry rather then an aviation showcase. apart from an-124’s their seems to be no exotic aircraft.
wonder if it would be at fairford
k done sir …..
yes thats actually a serious question , the difference btn King Elephant and African Elephant …… but then how can i miss to comment abt the World Cowboy during the height of Iraq Conflict travelling to SA and watching the African Elephants $uck……and $hit, he was looking soooooo stupid sitting on enjoying that ….. maybe the Cowboy has the ans for ur question for the difference …. lol ….
hey mate, you have valid points but i do not understand some of your posts and it is just doing a disservice to yourself in that you are not able to get your view point across to others.
dont think their will be, not so long ago the pentagon had a report on how vulnerable the Aircraft carrier is and how much it would it would effect on a war if one was to be sunk, in terms of moral and the loss of people, equipment etc.
Because the IAF needs to maintain and even expand its squadron strength and many planes such as the MiG-23s are leaving the force, the first 8 LCAs will enter service in 06 but large sale production will probably start by late 07-08 timeframe. PLus, no more money can be thrown at the LCA, its called the decreasing returns in econ. The LCA btw will begin weapons testing later this year when the PV2 comes online, the Kopyo has been dropped, meaning, the MMR must be ready, at least in minimum modes.
or they want to put the radar from the Mig-29k into it until the MMR is ready?
