THAT was reason for some serious butt-kicking!

Do you have more information on this please? didnt the Americans lodge a complaint about one of these buz’s?

What about Saudi Arabia or the UAE?

    This time i am serious.

Reason: They have spent shed loads of money buying Challengers and tornados and AWACS but when sadam came knocking.. well.. i didnt see them respond.

Whats the point of having one of the most technologically superior armed forces in the region if you do not intend to use it.

Israel announces successful test of anti-missile missile

    16/12/2003 at 07:02:25

    Date line: JERUSALEM
The Israeli army on Tuesday carried out a new test of a missile designed to shoot down ballistic missiles in flight, the defence ministry said, adding that the operation was successful.

The ministry said that the missile, named Hetz (arrow) was fired from an aircraft and successfully intercepted and destroyed another missile which was similar to the Soviet-made Scud missiles that have been widely used in the region, notably by the ousted Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein.

The statement said the test, the 11th of the Hetz system to date, involved hitting an incoming missile at high altitude.

The Hetz programme was launched in 1988 as part of a US programme to develop an anti-missile defence system, nicknamed “Star Wars” after the film of that name.

its a beutiful plane and a wonderful concept…

think of all the netcentric, capabilities the Airforces can add if they get the Gripen instead of the Yawndart! i mean the US will not seel block 60’s with the APG-80 radars no..

Gripen u can be hooked up and linked up to what ever you want! cheaply!

    i understand that..

and i know the bison prg has done lots for it.. but the design, i mean the airframe not the avionics, still uses lots of ideas that are passe.. hmm maybe not the correct words.. but lets say that people have learnt better way more efficient ways to do things since then..
