Given the billion + dollars to be invested in such a program, India better be picky. It will be funded from the tax rupees of many Indian citizens and it should be invested as well as can be, not to just “get onto the ladder”.

statement does not make sense especially as we do not have any idea of how much getting on the ladder would have cost compared to what they are trying to do now.

And not getting on the ladder will cost India $20 million + when it makes the purchase of the MMRCA because the LCA and its sub technologies including the radar and engine could not be delivered by DRDO or GTRE in time.

Excellent News! If these are similar to ATACMs then they should be very cost effective. I really hope they are planning to stick a couple of these on some surface ships or even fast attack craft like a slightly bigger version of the L&T interceptors.

A report I read recently about efa getting Harm mentioned that even with recently announced upgrades on the typhoon (I.e harm) it will not be able to match the tornado in terms of capability. But I am sure they will get rid.
