I am not sure but I do not think the gnats and mysteres are going to have much sucess with those birds.
Mind you this whole MMRCA seems to be a way for the IAF to get what it wanted almost 5 years ago (purchase more Mirages or something similar) but in a round about, costly and time consuming way.
And we still have lockheed and boeing, mig possibility of throwing a bit of a spanner into all things if they think they can take it on.
Lots of rumblings from people about how strategically the contract should have gone to Boeing or Lockmart have to wonder if they were informercials however as I cant see how the F-18 or F-16 could compare to even the Su-30 or upgraded Mirage 2000 and Mig 29 let alone the Eurofighter and Rafale.
The FAB report on the gripen had some great points about the gripen ands its radar but have to admist out of all of the aircraft the gripen was my favuorite (not that it matters or would ever matter) purely because you could imagine having forest covered airstrips and hidden airfields in north east and west with gripens at the ready.
