For India to try starting an arms race with China now or in the near future will be extremely unwise.

Yes we Indians are Scared . We are also growing not as fast as you guys (still second fastest growing) but we have access to western tech. As our GDP increases we will try to match your muscle. Lets see who will win Cold War 2. :diablo:

As for the Gripen NG vs J 10B I think its pretty even, the J 10 should have more endurance while the Gripen with Meteor and Swash Plate AESA should be superior A2A.

While I do not think the Rafale will win the MRCA. If the Kaveri-Snecma engine delivers its promise then I can see a few squadrons of Rafale ordered outside the MRCA. I know it do not make logistical sense, But we love our different curries same with fighters.

Raptor means bird of prey but I always thought the F 22 was insipired by the Jurassic Park ones.

If only people looked at existing threads before making their own ! I cannot see India buying it unless the N-LCA programme breaks down.

    India’s future carrier based fleet – MIG 29K. N LCA, F 35.

All the IAF MKIs will not be converted to carry the Brahmos anyway. But what is the point for internal weapons bay in a fighter who’s RCS is high even when it is clean.

I do thank you for posting a long response. Ok I will agree with you, to extent, lets wait and see what comes along in tech field, because what I see is not black and white. One is innovating and one is copying statements just dont cut it.

Both are innovating and both are copying. India does it more or less legally while China relies on Espionage and non-licensed production.

Dogfighting with guns takes away most of Raptors advantages (it still has tvc and tons of power). May be that explains the results.

India secretly counters Chinese successful Anti Ballistsic Missile test

Indian defense research organizations are smiling with ease as Pravda announces that Americans are now scared of recent Chinese ABM test. Pakistan wants Chinese missile defense by 2012. But Islamabad does not know what waits its fate.

According to Pravda, China performed a successful launch of an ABM interceptor missile. The test became an important link in the creation of the nation’s missile defense system, news agencies reported January 11. Pravda further says, it was a Chinese act to scare the Americans and the Government of Taiwan.

Interestingly, according to souurces close to Indian military defense reserach institute (it is no longer DRDO at Pune, the secret advanced organization is fully classified), India is ahead of Chinese missile technologies in stealth, target precision management, and algorithmic evasion.

The recent ABM test in China was closely followed by Indian top military space scientists. It actually exposed China’s weakness and vulnerability. It also brought smiles among the Indian scientists and engineers because if this is what Chinese could perform to scare the Americans, then China has really to worry about Indian capabilities. India has two sets of program. One is open and the other is secret. The open specs are far behind the real specs. The open program boasts Prithvi Air Defense anti-ballistic missile interceptor. Last year, India showed the world how Prithvi Air Defense anti-ballistic missile interceptor achieved all the mission objectives. The two-stage interceptor missile fitted with advanced systems hit the target enemy missile at 75 kilometers (47 miles) altitude. But India does not talk about its secret program that far exceeds Prthvi’s capabilities.

The official reason is that EF has too many “parents”, companies and countries, so negotiating an overaching and aggressive ToT agreement as desired by Brazil was seen as “close to impossible” by the Brazilian Air Force. It just seemed simpler with Dassault, Saab and Boeing.

    Regards,

    Hammer

I kind of feel that is odd because for the Indian MRCA the Eurofighter consortium is offering full ToT and partner nation status.

If at all India’s ToT requirements are more than that of Brazil.

It would be great what Chinese would do if the ‘Independence Day’ Aliens attacked Shanghai instead of New York.

so, basically, the Eurofighter people working in “communications” can’t speak correct english but their talk must be taken for granted?

    +1

Because in the past there have been many times where users here have written to Eurofighter guys and they have replied in perfect English.

Thats true even my grammar is not perfect. Neither is that of many users here, but its a forum that do not matter. Replying to a question from a position of responsibility is however a totally different matter.
