Nah Big bombers have their own strategic value. A squadron or two of heavy bombers would be great. The problem is not many offers it for sale, only Russia i guess.

For conventional strikes not necessarily Nuclear. Imagine Backfires in IAF service armed to the teeth with Brahmos/Nirbhay clearly a big deterrent.

I like how the Rafale fans downplay Gripen’s victory in Switzerland. Being economical is a big part of the modern fighter.

If Rafale wins in India and offers a sensible unit price, then I can see the order nearing the number of Rafales operated by the French.

Yes, there is no doubt, i’m delighted, this is what Gripen should have been from start, especially the huge fuel & range increase,
altho i don’t see that as important in Swiss case.

Hopefully Brazil will choose it as well.

Its true that the Indian Army is the most tainted amongst all our armed forces, with top brass being involved in scam after scam. Delayed procurement is just another part of the mess.

If they worked efficiently and pressurize MoD enough they can get artillery and the attack choppers and what not. IMO concerted effort is lacking from the army’s part.
