It is only in the bag once its signed but….
Who Dares wins
All I have to say to that: NO software codes, NO buy!!! Simple.
To late for that atleast for the partner nations.
I blame those Iraqi people which accepted and even did support the Baath Party and Saddam. You can buy your stuff whereever you want, but before doing so you have to pay your debts too.
Err Iraq was not a democracy under Saddam, the Shia majority would have never voted for him. Saddam was sponsored by the West at one stage. Iraqis are not responsible for Saddam’s actions because they did not vote him in, but people of democratic countries are indirectly responsible for the actions of their leaders.
U.S has tried to sell their planes either existing ones or new variants of an old design to countries which were trying to develop their own fighters. See the MRCA thread where they discussed Hornet 2000 offered as an alternate to Typhoon, I think they offered F20 as an alternate to Gripen. Some one here posted that they offered the F 5 to India.
I am from a country, which was not involved in the last Iraq war, but it was still compelled to take some burden from it. I do not believe in your blame of the UN, which found a lot of material about chemical warfare and used before. What is your idea about the punishment of the Iraq for the war crimes committed till 1990?
Your problems with the USA are not mine and there are a lot of American members here to ask their opinion about that. Did the Iraq all to prevent the distrust after 1991 and by the that the end of sanctions and the war of 2003?!Before a single jet will be sold to the Iraq, the Iraq has to be forced to pay his debts at first.
Iraq was pretty much neutralized after the first Gulf War, you could see that with the easy victory Americans had in the second Gulf War. The sanctions only served to make the situation of ordinary Iraqis worse, Saddam was still living in his palace.
I actually do not have any problems with U.S.A. I have a problem when people say they helped Iraqis etc. I asked you how ? By sponsoring a dictator when it suited them, and removing him when it did not ? So Iraq was invaded in 2003 because of American distrust 🙂 and you blame Iraq for it.
As for the jets I do not think the Americans would want to be there for ever. I am sure the Iraqis will look elsewhere if America don’t sell them. The Russians and the Chinese would be eager to help. 😉
You have not answered my question Sens. When Iraq invaded Kuwait in the first world war you called it as (rightfully) Iraq’s criminal intentions. The Second Gulf War in 2003 when looked from the same point of view (of international law) was equally bad (there was no UN mandate) so why don’t you call it criminal invasion as well ?
Now you are talking about American good deeds in Iraq, like installing a favourable regime, making it one of the violent places on earth etc. You talk about being kind enough to waive 80% of debts this of a country impoverished because of U.S sponsored UN sanctions. Throw into that the fact that America once sponsored Saddam hussein who was responsible for most of these wars you spoke about, do you really think that waiving Iraq’s debt was an act of kindness by the United States ? And about you tax payer money, your elected government made the decision to get engaged in Iraq and moreover in future it will be more than accounted for by the new oil deals that American Companies got.
The Iraqis are going to get new jets soon if US sells the F 16 atleast Lockheed can make some money or else they may look elsewhere.
The first Gulf War was indeed because of Iraq’s criminal idea. But know that the same allegation can be used against the Allies in the second gulf war. The current refugee situation for example is as a consequence of that.
I think we really need more defense establishments than the usual suspects, DRDO,HAL,ADA etc. with the number of weapon systems we are trying to develop at the same time, it will invariably lead to delays.
So you do not have problems to repay your billions of debts at first. My taxpayers money too by the way. I am not intrested in the problems of the Iraq with the USA, Kuwait, Iran or Kurds. Most of your weaponary since the 60s were payed by credits. There are thousands of Iraqi refugees in my country fed by social welfare money from my taxes too. All that in mind I am not pleased to learn by Iraqi military, that they have no intrest to pay their debts at first but are intrested to order new military hardware, like Mirages, MiGs or F-16s to stay polite. There are millions of Iraqi outside your country, which are in need of a safe internal situation to return. 😡
Mostly because of United States and its Allies invaded Iraq. You invade a country and then whine about the reconstruction costs, the refugees etc. being taken out of your taxpayer money.
The deveoper trials had foriegn INS system and all have been successful the failed user trials used india INS system hmm.
Actually in that article Sintra posted there was a delta canard design

arthuro
I mean most of people argue “my aicraft can kill yours” in a cold war mindset to assess performance when AtG is 100% of the job now.
And hence the Super Hornet.
This Navy Story Seems to be true regardless with more reports.
My Bet is on the Rafale in this one. 🙂
I thought the second article was much better and believable than the first.
