Nixon was Republican and he was the one who brought rapid US-PRC rapprochement!
Besides, most Republicans these days want war with Mexico and Muslims, not Chinese. Bachman says the Hezbollah are building missiles in Cuba
Different times, Soviets were a bigger threat, America just exploited the Sino-Soviet split.
At times its amazing when you think what all America and Russia can do if they were allied, I meant throughout history !
i.e or anyone can tyou please translate the important parts of the above posted Chinese Magazine.
May be the Russians are learning better cockipit ergonomics & Aesthetics from the West.
I was talking about the U.S with respect to China. Not insignificant European countries who at best can bomb 3rd class powers like Libya (the U.K for example has no ability to aide Taiwan if push comes to shove, unlike say Japan). Oh and tell me if China is not important for your economy why do your P.M go there and push for investment ? Same thing he does in India (almost begging its so sad to think these guys once ruled us!) (to a much lesser extent as there is simply no comparison between the two economies at the moment). I am no fan of the Chinese as is well known, but the age of western dominance in World Economy has ended, may be its time some of you start to live in the real world and stop thinking that your countries will make such drastic decisions that will have negative impact on your faltering economies. The U.S is still the worlds only super power and thus command enormous respect throughout the world, same cannot be said about the UK or any of the EU nations (or India or Japan or Russia). Taiwan’s fate ultimatley hinges on decisions made by the U.S.
Do you for once think UK will sell fighters to Taiwan even if they give u 200 million per fighter ? That require serious b******s in the current political and economic climate, which not even U.S has these days.
In the end unless the U.S comes under Strong Republican leadership its going to be too easy for China in the region and Taiwan will be taken over either by force or coercion. Even then I tend to think Taiwan is too small an issue these days for the Americans to seirously have a stand off or war with China.
Rafale with Two Brahmos Yummm the site…
IMHO, only chance for Taiwan to get latest equipment is to order in significant numbers i.e. in 100s. Industry will automatically do the required lobbying for them. Money talks.
 Yes burn the birdges with your biggest trading partner for 10-20 billion thats small change for the Chinese these days. :p
For the worlds powers including Japan & U.S Taiwan is too insignificant an issue to risk relations with China, espeically in the current economic climate.
Not a bad idea, comprising of India Pakistan Bangladesh & SriLanka 🙂
The Great Eurozone is on the verge of collapse may be Britain will wait for a bit longer ! Staying out of Euro has worked out rather well for them/
India is way ahead of Russia wrt to software thats about it.
What reason do you have to believe either Perry or Romney will make a “special” relation with India as opposed to Obama?
Because Obama is a closet Sinophile, which was evident from his gestures just after he came to power, the other thing is he is ideologically opposed to India on many matters like the NPT and all.
The republicans is likely to continue from where George W. Bush left off with respect to India ;). Although she is no longer a candidate, Sarah Palin visited India recently and talked about taking India U.S relation to the next level, I guess GOP winning the Presidential election will be very good news for India-U.S ties.
Brahmos is too bulky tbf.
From the link:
😀
Why is this incredibly ‘expensive’ thing being considered by IN
NH-90 has that order in the bag IMO
India-U.S relationship will be special again when Obama leaves office and the GOP gains whitehouse.
ASMP-A won’t be sold to India, right; but I think it is possible for France to sell VESTA / ANF techonology to India if IAF adopts Rafale finally, and tells India what spec of warhead is suitable for a VESTA-family missile.
And if Indian can design and build its own Indian ASMP-A for IAF’s Rafale from these techonology and information, then it will be Indian business, not France:D
Hail Rafale :diablo:
Maneuvarability won’t matter for much in future air combat
Maneuvaerality was never important in any modern USAF campaign for the 3 last decades..
But USAF leaders are not kids playing pc-games…the ATF was designed to counter the soviet union, not a 3th world air force.
But still the F-22 was designed with maneuverability in mind…and actually was selected over the F-23 because of this factor.
Maneuverability is obsolete if you outnumber your enemy 10:1 in the sky…
Will India outnumber 10:1 the China air force?…you are dreaming cowboy fantasies that no even USAF generals are dreaming.
TVC mostly adds to subsonic maneuvarability which will not play much part in combat of the future.
What the FGFA needs IMO is better all aspect stealth including stealthy nozzles and a Russian version of the EO-DAS.
Point your head and shoot 😎 Works even under the cockpit or behind you !
In such a scenario with newest SRAAMS TVC is going to count for nothing. 😉
Talking about the F-22 it was designed before the quantum leap in optoelectronics we see in F 35, and like you said during the cold war, which made it too expensive and eventually led to its downfall.
The Flat nozzled FGFA will anyway have TVC like the F 22, which is rather good close in.
