Fantastic news for NCL. I wonder if this is the start of FR expanding from NCL in a big way? LTN/NCL would be most welcome – come on Mike, giz a LTN/NCL flight twice a day at least. C’mon – if you do, I promise to start liking your airline again 🙂 – if I get stranded in Newcastle, I don’t mind. It’s preferable to the last two abandonments in Gerona 😡 and Lubeck 😡 you gave me!! Go on, go on, go on, GO ON!!!!! :diablo:

At one point, LON-ABZ was the BA route with the distinction of having the highest % of Gold FF card travellers. Oil workers fly to ABZ every fortnight and they alone would make the route work, even without the other traffic.

Eastern fly MME-ABZ and I think they just upgraded from J32 to J41.

……..and they do it 4 times a day with fares that are hardly ‘bargainous’!

NCL/ABZ was always a great route for Gill Airways and I suspect it continues to be for Eastern seeing as they have upgraded that to a jet service nowadays. MME/ABZ also served Gill extremely well and don’t HUY and NWI have multiple daily serves to ABZ too? Clearly there is a demand to ABZ.

I agree with Mongu in the opinion that ABZ is safe. CWL/ABZ should prove to be a fantastic route for Air Wales.

ZB lost what class and marketing advantage they had when they ditched their much-hyped free meals, drink service and free bottle of plonk!

They used to advertise the ‘differences’ between their service and no frills. Now they will have to compete on cost alone and I hop they pay dearly for it!

Futhermore, ZB manages to compete with EZY at both LGW and LTN and with WW at MAN and our loads remain very healthy. We’ve never had so many passengers on the ZB routes – especially since the service changes brought online lower fares and more fare levels! However, I realise I am wasting my time even typing this for your benefit, you silly little boy.

One other observation, JET2, to the best of my knowledge, are a no frills airline. What would the difference be between JET2 having no free meals and ZB having no free meals? Can you explain that please, Mr. Chief Executive Officer of IATA!!!???

2 million ZB passengers a year disagree with you Whingemeister! 😉

Welcome to MAN, JET2 – I love your colour scheme.

Edit – before I get slated, I hadn’t got as far as your Caledonian guesses before I posted my reply – honest!! 🙂 – However, I do think it’s BCAL.

Ah-ha! That’s what the (now defunct) East African looked like! Nice photo! A member of my staff was out in Kenya when East African went bust and it somewhat upset their flight home! Her first time abroad and first flight too!

The best livery on this thread so far has to be the Australian one IMHO. I love that livery.
