What do they have at this small museum now? I’ve lost count on what they have.
Thanks
James B
The Argosy still needs a big clean, must have been years since it had a good clean and paint.
Fantastic pictures there 🙂

Hi Peter
I have sent you a PM. Can’t understand you didn’t get my email.
James B
Hi Peter
Did you get my email ok about the Aeropark? You are more than welcome to email me back. I find working at the Aeropark a fantastic job. I’ve been there for nearly 5 years now, and things have changed in that time.

Peter
I have sent you an email about the Aeropark.

Yeah I thought the Brooklands museum on Google Earth looked a bit ghostly. I think there are 2 Varsity’s and Merchantman’s in that pic, where they only have 1 of each
James B
Very nice pictures there. I bet they will all look like they are covered in snow today 😀
James B
On Google Earth, I try and look for air museums in the UK. I have found so far
East Midlands Aeropark
Norwich Aviation Museum
North East Aircraft Museum – with the Vulcan, Vampire and Canberra outside
Brooklands Museum
Gatwick Aviation Museum
Midland Air Museum – and Air Atlantique collection.
Duxford Museum
Aeroventure – with a Hunter and Lightning outside
Also found both Southend’s, Manchester’s and Blackpool’s Vulcans. I have spotted about 16 Vulcans.
I would love to see Newark, Flixton, Cosford and Fleet Air Arm Museums from the air but they are all not clear yet.
I work with this collection of aircraft. That above pic of the Aeropark is well out of date now.

Many thanx there David. Such a shame the Canberra T.19 got scrapped, same with the Hunter (black arrows c/s). I hate it when that happens. Where did the 2 cockpit sections go? At least the Jet Provost went to Dumfries complete, and the Vampire, Provost, Mystere, and Lightning all complete too. I hope they will all be looked after.

As to what other aircraft the ex NATO air museum had were an S-55C S-884 which left in 1994 and returned to Denmark which was exchanged for the Draken. They also had Westland Sikorsky Whirlwind HAR.10 XP339 (left June 1987) which was exchanged for the F-104 Starfighter.
What they have now I believe??
Lightning T.5 XS416
Lightning T.5 XS457 nose
Lightning F.6 XR757 nose
Lightning F.6 XR770
Starfighter 22+57
Draken A-011
Talking of the Hemswell museum. Does anyone know where the aircraft are now as the museum has closed?
Hope this all helps.
James B
The other Lightning is a T.5 by the way. It says in W&R 19 the Draken is an ex Danish AF Esk.729, it was also with the same collection at New Waltham and now at Grainthorpe.
Good little collection of aircraft, and well looked after. I believe they used to have an S.55.

I’ve found in the UK, East Midlands Airport, Norwich Airport, Brooklands Museum, Bournemouth Air Museum etc. I have also found a couple of places in South Africa with Shackleton’s.
James B
You mean Shackleton, Hastings and Vulcan. Hanger 2 isn’t big enough for them, that hanger is more or less full up now. Just about to add Meteor NF.12 and Draken in hanger 2 from hanger 1, that enables to display the Tiger Moth and Auster better, also the Monospar when it returns
May be in the future, another hanger will be built for some of the others outdoors.
The Hastings is looking rather dirty now as its really hard to clean an aircraft like that.
James B
They really need to sort the Buccaneer out, it looks so dirty. I wish it was indoors. The Hastings is also rotting.
