Well, I have an air rifle with ‘Made In Great Britain’ (Or England to be more accurate) proudly stamped on the side of it. Its from a company called; Brocock, & the model I have from them is called a Concept, in .22 cal. its a fine bit of kit and according to many sources, us Brits produce to finest air rifles in the world….

Yes, probably not much to go on but how many countries have something thats produced/made abroad? pretty much all of them. Even Americas main battle tank is as American as Obama is an Irishman.

What happened when the Yanks said dogfighting was over back in the Vietnam era? They got their arses handed to them on a plate & soon ate their words, painful lesson and I can’t believe they still think its over. (If they actualy did say it that is.)

I think it litrally stands for Counter Insurgency type.
My interpretation is, close air support is one of the roles, but COIN aircraft tend to be designed to be slow, stable, excellent at low-level, easily armed with more traditional type weapons hung under the wings or indoorways etc, traditional and robust construction (takes some enemy damage), and have a good spotting capacity, usually by an extra crew member to the pilot.

Well, I’m not sure where to start, my first choices would probably have to be the Typhoon and Mosquito from WW2, Hawker Hunter, And I think the two-seater Hawk could be quite an aircraft for this role.

Thats a very impressive display, although its heavily loaded it doesn’t half shift along still doesn’t it? looked cool as a cucumber. Its a pity we couldn’t see what it can do with the same load at say, 40.000ft at supersonic speeds, sure it’ll be even more impressive.

Also, thanks for the article about the new helmet too. Once it gets the new radar with the swashplate it’s going to be one hell of a great bit of kit.

The Predator franchise has been blighted by a run of crap follow-ups after the IMMENSE 1987 original. However, this one, penned and produced by Robert Rodriguez from a script idea he had when he was younger, is a more than worthy sequel to Schwarzenegger’s pulse-pounding adrenalin-fuelled thrill ride.

Seriously good fun. It’s on the ‘to buy’ list already!

Agree. The first two were the best ones, even prefer them to the Alien franchise if I’m honest. The AVP ones are just something you’d watch for fun when theres a few people in having a drink or two and not really paying attention to the film. Must say though, they’re a really good concept, just very poorly done.

I haven’t seen the new Predators yet, I’ll be going to see it soon, just really busy at the moment.
