Maybe a little off topic, but I’m sure at least one person has though of the F-15 Silent Eagle as alternative to the F-35…

    http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2010/07/09/344274/f-15-silent-eagle-scores-two-firsts-with-export-license-flight.html

Now according to this source, the F-15 SE had its ‘maiden flight’, if you like, on 8th July 10…

They’re not 100% serious about putting this into service are they?…

I’m not into football, I can’t really stand it in fact, but I was hoping Holland, or the Netherlands if you prefer, would win the final…Seen a bit of it, looked like they couldn’t be bothered…“Hey’sh, lets haves a smokes inshtead, yah?” (Poor attempt at a Dutch accent) 😮

Not sure I got the laugh but hey, it just reminded me…When is the new movie of the Dambusters coming out again? Last I heard someone, producer I think, got in touch with the MoD asking for “information” about the real life mission which even the todays public don’t know about. That was about 4-5 months or so ago…Haven’t heard anything else since.

    Has anyone else?

Besides, what about the UKSF dedicated Chinooks?

If I remember correctly…We can’t use them, they’re stuffed in some hanger collecting dust because our lovely, loyal, caring, trusty thoughtful American friends won’t give the source codes to us so we can fly them. Beautiful trusting people, aren’t they…

That was only something I heard not long ago to be honest, wether its true or not, I don’t know. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was IMO.

No, YOU are making a fool of yourself. I have posted as many or more sources than pretty much any/every other poster here but I am LONG past reposting sources over & over & over again which have already been posted.

No I’m not, I’m just asking for a source or two from you, so where? Is it that big of deal to ask you for at least one? Surely its not that hard, is it? It’d certainly save these petty arguments. Heres mine:

    http://www.raf.mod.uk/equipment/mauserandaden.cfm

Now you pretty much can’t get no more official than that, it clearly states it fires 1000 to 1700 rounds per minute, not 1800, I take their word for it. Now how about you posting a link saying it fires 1800 rounds per minute?

This is NOT the 1st time this particular point of discussion has been on this forum & I know full well (because of past ‘discussions’) that if I had dared to use 1700 rather than 1800 that one or more posters would have had a fit claiming I was putting the Bk 27 in a ‘less than positive light’ using 1700 when there are so many sources which cite 1800. And YOU have spent more time bitching about my using 1800 (even AFTER I explained why & what the numbers would be if I had used 1700 instead) than it would (or as suspect did but you STILL can not let it go) to have done a simple internet search & verified that there ARE several sources which say 1800 rather than 1700.

You didn’t explain much or didn’t answer anything I asked, nor did you post a link of a source, not on this particular thread anyway of which I don’t know why you’re making a big deal about doing so. So, yet again, post these several sources you claim they say 1800. They must be wrong or have the chaps that maintain the RAF website wrong?

If you had dared used 1700 then I personally wouldn’t of had a problem with that, if anyone else would’ve quoted you on that, saying its BS etc I would’ve actually defended you til the cows came home (Not something I’d do often I admit) because thats something I believe in myself and I don’t believe for a second its 1800, unless you or anyone could prove me, the RAF or its makers wrong.

I missed it. But your posting thus far proves you are in no way interrested in what my response would be but are rather just being an a-hole & derailing the thread.

    Really……..

At least it explains something worth talking about rather than calling people “An A-hole”. *tut-tut, why do people call others names…Just derails the thread a bit*.

What happened on bloody Sunday was terrible, theres no getting away from it, it just was. But when you send a bunch of battle hardened, trained to kill Paras into a place to do a police mans/womans job while getting bottles, bricks, crap, petrol bombs & god knows what else thrown at them, then theres going to be results like this. Its a sad fact but these things happen, it was declared a “War-Zone” and these things happen, it happens or happened in Iraq, Afghanistan, Checyna, Serbia, Bosnia, Ireland…List is endless, what happens to the soldiers or airmen that killed those? Who knows what on earth happened…

When the IRA scum of the earth decide to blow up some busy place where theres innocent men, woman & children minding their own business & kill them, and the people that support them have the nerve to call the British Armed Forces “murderers”? Absurde!

Like I say, what happened was terrible, it shouldn’t have happened but sadly it did. Sadly its the messed up world we live in.

My uncle served with the Royal Marines for almost 24 years, served all over the world in various wars, some of which was The Falklands, Iraq, Afhganistan, Sierra Leone. He was/is Irish, a protestant, to me, family, friends etc is a hero and to some, not all, just the morons, is a “murderer”, and this is from the idiots that think its ok for the IRA to kill innocent people. If thats not hypocracy then I don’t know what the hell is.

    Just my two pennies.

Try reading what I posted about the Bk27 before continuing to make such a fool of yourself.

Again, I was giving the Bk27 the ‘benefit of the doubt’ & putting it into the best possible light using 1800 rds/min even though (as I posted) there are just as many sources which say it is 1700 rds/min & assuming it achieves instantaneous full ROF. If I were to have instead used the (I believe) more likely 1700 rds/min & a less than instantaneous (but stil very fast) ‘spool up’ to full ROF its 0.5 & 1 sec burst would be ‘just’ ~13 & ~27 rounds respectively instead of the ~15 & ~30 rounds I posted.

No, pfcem. You’re the one thats making a fool of yourself. You can’t be a*sed to post a source, which is something you very rarely do. The best possible light would just post its figures that everyone knows it can do in the first place, i.e fire 1700 rounds per minute. yeah I see your point, but its pointless. Just find a source for once, I could find one for you but why should I? I take what, say, the RAF website say, that it clearly states it fires 1000rds/min or 1700rds/min. If your theory had any point or meaning to it then they would’ve probably said 1800rds/min to give the BK27 the “benefit of the doubt”, but of course they didn’t because they know a hell of a lot more than you and I.

And you say that, I quote: “…putting it into the best possible light using 1800rds/min even though (as I posted) there just as many sources which say 1700rds/min…”. So what you’re saying is that there is just as many sources saying that is fires 1800 rds/min as there is 1700rds/min? Correct? If I understand you correctly & I’m just making sure, then which sources state it fires 1800rds/min?

On another note, pfcem, replying to post #77 on page three that I posted would’ve been a bit more logical, or did you miss that one?
