i dont know if jf17 can get aesa but j10b can take on su30mki.
j10b is like euroopean typhoon but more advance because it has aesa radar first and many hard points and good range.
j10b with aesa may not come in service as fast as rafael but rafael aesa is limited because the nose is so small and the airplane does not have enough thrust.
j10b in paf can take on everything in indian af. but when pakfa come out paf need j31 for sure.

Would you like to explain in greater detail about those claims? In what ways is the J-10B more advanced than Typhoon, how can the J-10B compete with the Su-30MKI, how does the Rafale have insufficient thrust, and how can the J-10B take on everything in the IAF?

Or are they just narrow minded one liners?

perhaps if they had the f-14 then there would not have been a need to join eurofighter/rafale and UK would make a 5th gen replacement in the 90s-2000s

F-14, F-15, Tornado ADV… whatever they chose, the UK would have still went the Typhoon path.

The Iraqi runways needed to be taken out ASAP and there was no other way to do it, nor were there anyone else very keen on doing the mission. Enter the RAF. It wasn’t about being over confident, they knew the risks, they knew what they had to do and they went out and done it with great affect. They get the Brass Balls Award for sure.

I’ve got a lot of books about the RAF’s history, what they have, ordered or even looked at, amongst other general topics. Never heard of them showing interest in the F-14.

To the general question. The Tornado ADV was just a stop gap until the EAP, or Typhoon as we know it now to be, came online. It’s questionable if it was more cost effective than buying off the shelf F-14s. A different story to operating costs, plus the UK were very much into European collaboration, and the Maiden flight of the F-14 was far from perfect so it was a bullet in the foot.
