I have done Amsterdam from Southampton as a day trip (weekdays only though) Also did Dusseldorf from SOU a couple of years ago as well. Am sure other destinations are available if you look at the flybe website.

    Hi,

The Fantasy of Flight museum offers flights in a vintage bi-plane and there are a few other organisations in the Orlando area that might be of interest. For a P51 ride visit http://www.stallion51.com for details.

I would say that you have little or no chance of making that connection given the sprawl that is DFW. Am even assuming you are travelling AA all the way and your baggage will be checked through to London. It would not take much of a departure delay or a long taxi at Orlando or DFW to cause problems – suggest you try to reschedule and get an earlier flight to DFW.

As Middle Wallop is not that far from me i hope to come along. Is the event going to be open to the general public / enthusiasts ?

When the No1 engine departed, not only did it take the hydraulics with it, it also disabled the stall warning system. The crew had sufficient airspeed to remain flying but when trading airspeed for altitude the left wing had a higher stall speed as a result of the slats having retracted and no stall warning system. I think procedures were amended to reflect this ‘worst case’ and increase the minimum speeds after the loss of an engine.

I saw that magnificent aircraft at Oshkosh last year – very impressive to see such a big biplane so beautifully restored. J Boyle – you are a lucky man to have had a flight in something so rare.

Nurse Chappel is no longer – play by Majel Barrett who was Mrs Gene Roddenbury. She also provided the voices for many of the computers in the Orginal, Next Generation, DS9 and Voyager series (i think)
