A very light Ukranian modernization of one of their Mi-24s.

Can track up to 300 targets.
“По мнению главного конструктора комплекса «Шмель» В. П. Иванова, уступая американскому E-3 в дальности обнаружения целей и по числу автоматизированных каналов наведения, А-50 превосходит его по уровню выделения целей на фоне мешающих отражений от земной поверхности. “
According to designer of the complex, the E-3 has better range and number of channels, while A-50 has better discrimination from cluttered reflection.

I’d imagine firm comparison would be pretty hard to do :p.

New painted Mi-35 for RuAF, and a Mi-28.
http://russianplanes.net/images/to60000/059922.jpg
All new, in front, Mi-35s probably for Azerbaijan, behind them, for RuAF.

Brazilian Mi-35.

And the final, 4th new Mi-26 for the RuAF this year.
Remember, the short engine life and overhaul time on Soviet era engines was due to the system of front-line-airfield repairs and full repair depots behind lines. Very different system to NATOs. The planned overhauls being so seemingly frequent, on both airframes and engines has to do with the doctrine. Also explains why these figures were seemingly magically improved post USSR.
Can’t say if those figures are accurate though. However 5 million replacement every 300 hours is obviously nonsense.
EDIT: Let’s also stick to one thread 🙂
Yes, the Swedish government committed to buy 10 Gripen NG if ‘Brazil or any other country place an order’
A curious deal, isn’t it?
Multirole ability never hurts, especially for someone who might not operate the full spectrum of attack/LO/etc etc aircraft. Not all missions require extreme LO.
MiG-29OVT test pilot (forgot the name at the moment) said explicitly in a magazine that the TVC Rd-33 was not offered for the legacy, analogue FBW MiG-29s.
Those are only 18. they need 200 to 300 fighters. and with amount of Oil contracts they have done. they can surely afford it in 5 to 10 year period.
Dude….between your claims of 1000 aircraft ordered by Aeroflot (not gonna happen in our live times, sorry) and 200-300 fighters by Iraq in the next 5-10 years…. :/

The official news confirmation. Flight lasted over an hour for the 2nd serial Su-35. No issues encountered.
Airframe life, as of now, is stated as 6000 hours. Engine with TVC- 4000 hours.
Surly China has upgraded their Su-27SK to an SKM version by now.. if not they are flying relics..
By that standard many, if not most, of the aircraft operated by air forces worldwide are flying relics. 😉
And to answer my own question, according to pilot, another Su-35 flew today. Not sure if it is second serial, but suspect so.
So, active Su-27 (all derivatives) and Mig-31 totals to 400?
At least, but in that general ballpark.
Hand over of the half-dozen Su-34s has been put off by about a week.
Also, what is the word with Su-35 production? I believe Sukhoi promised several airframes this year, so far, silence.
