    Probably never. I don’t see it in this thread nor in any other thread. No one claims the J-20 is the best program “evah.”

    They buy russian hw and they have a domestic counterpart program to develope a non-reverse-engineer replacement that is 1-generation ahead. at same time.

    On Pinko’s chart you would have seen the RD-93’s counterpart also.

    Not sure how the RD-93 counterpart (not a finished product either from what I can tell) is 1 gen ahead.

    Putin finally did something right, by forcing domestic airlines to buy the new indigenous aircraft. Solid domestic orders are critical for program success, and those programs are very promising.

    It was China stop purchasing. Russia still offers many things, even Su-35.

    Well they bought more than enough RD-93s for JF-17 for many years to come, no surprise they stopped buying them. Lots of sources indicate the RD-93 purchases are not done yet.

    As a weapons system, this was true. The Flanker and Fulcrum were competitive aerodynamically, but their avionics/weapons lagged behind(I know you’ll bring up the Archer, but that didn’t offset the BVR advantages the Eagle had).

    I doubt it. 😎

    For the record I actually do not see much of the MiG-1.44 in the J-20 and think the copy claims (despite China’s abysmal history in the matter) are as stupid as people saying PAK-FA was a ripoff or looks like a Flanker.

    At the end of the day Russia is still making more money from India than it ever has before. Market share is irrelevant.

    While we will never know which aircraft will have the most stealth, the real race is now on, ie. which among the two J-20 or T-50 will enter service first. My vote is on the J-20.

    Looking at the F 35 timelind can we add that to this race as well.

    Why would it be a race? China and Russia are not enemies, hell, they have very close ties.

    And my vote is on PAK-FA while we are at it:cool:.

    Had a question regarding the MKI- what are the equivalents for the SAAB laser and missile launch warning systems mounted on the MKM?
