Has a book on Kingman ever been done?
Not sure a book specific on Kingman was ever written, but William Larkins published this one which has a lot of photos and info about Kingman and other early post war US military aicrafts “recycle” depots. A really interesting reading.

Good day Snappy,
That’s a very nice little scoop. Had heard of this wreck for years but had never seen any recent photo. It’s probably the same one as this photo taken in the early sixties (source: unknown).

Beautiful!!
I really love/hate those scrapping photos.

Good day,
Can help for the gunsight as i’ve got 2 spare N-9 : one in good “relic” condition and a “nice” one. Both without sighting head as the P-63 was not fitted with either the B1 or B2 sigthing head. Just PM me if you’re interested.
But are you sure you actually need an N-9? As you know, P-63 up to A-9 version were fitted with N-3C gunsights.
Regards,
Laurent
Good day,
For parts for your project, did you think about Canadian wrecks?
P-63 probably took the same ferry routes to Russia as P-39 did.
There is a guy called blue-yonder on Flikr that posted many photos of P-39 crash wrecks he visited in the past. What is still there is incredible and an absolute treasure trove of parts for any restoration. So, if it’s the case for P-39, it’s also probably the case for P-63. Might be worth contacting him.
Here is an example :
P-51 instrument panel
Good to see there are still people willing to pay for authenticity.

I remember seeing a few original panels on Ebay recently (including a Stirling one probably unique) not attracting any rightfull interest.

Dear Lance,
If among your spares, you have a few light sources (bulb holder or whatever its called) i’m interested.
Thanks,
Laurent

Good day Paddy,
what you actually got from Lance is a Type I Mk. II Reflector head that was fitted to the the Type I Mk. I Projector. This combination of Reflector/Projector was definitely not aircraft specific but suitable for all rocket firing aircrafts.
This combination superceeded the Mark IIL that you have pictured.
BTW, if you have a spare Mark IIL, i’m really interested.

Laurent
