Good day Paddy,
what you actually got from Lance is a Type I Mk. II Reflector head that was fitted to the the Type I Mk. I Projector. This combination of Reflector/Projector was definitely not aircraft specific but suitable for all rocket firing aircrafts.
This combination superceeded the Mark IIL that you have pictured.
BTW, if you have a spare Mark IIL, i’m really interested.
Regards,
Laurent
Good evening,
After a thourough examination, conclusions are :
– abolutely no part mumber or marking at all on this switch
– it’s attached to the gun button by 3 screws,
– no visible wiring going out of it. So, if there is any wiring, it’s going directly through the gun button to which it is attached.

Good day,
Thanks for the answers.
Will look closely at any part number and wiring this evening.

And there is the wreck of Ventura NZ4570 that crashed on 8 Aug 44 at Malampa, Malekula island Vanuatu.

Merde !
Peter, you’re telling me that the one i bought is not correct.
Could not imagine that for such a standard thing as a vacuum pump (cannot put the right word as its being censored with ****) would in fact not be standard !

Thanks Cees,
Tried hard to get it but somebody wanted it even more than me. More than 200 GBP ! Crasy.
But sometimes you’re just lucky. Few days later another one appeared on Ebay australia and i got it at much much more reasonnable price !
BTW, if somebody else want one, another one is now for sale on Ebay AU for 115 AUD.

I think this :

was definitely one of, if not the best place in the world for wreks. A lot has since been recovered or scrapped but quite a lot is still there !

Never heard of that rumour. One of his imcomplete airframe (ground looped and without wings) arrived in the UK for restoration to fly around 2 years ago. But besides that ?
If i’m not mistaken, this is the third Typhoon grip i’ve seen for sale in the last couple of months. Getting boring !
Hello,
Yes, it does.
Complete references on the GS are :
STORES REF N°8B/2666
REFLECTOR GUN SIGHT MARK II N
A.M. SERIAL N° 1745/43
And below that, the usual British, French and US patent.
Also, STORES REF originally was 8B/2446 but 2446 was painted over and new ref 2666 was engraved next to it.
By the way, thanks for the info about AP manuals referring to gun sights. I’m desperately looking for any detailed info on GB & US WII gunsights.
