I just logged on, too. Guess the upgrade worked!
New video of a 109E (D-FEML) test flight in Germany. You may recognise a certain mustachioed test pilot…
I was going to suggest contacting Guy Black at Aero Vintage but I see that they’re having a stocktake at the moment so no sales currently. Might be worth keeping an eye on the website though
Found a picture of G-AKRN taken at Portsmouth in 1958, with Jackie Moggeridge named as the pilot – maybe this one? Also a colour picture of it on the scrapheap. Links only as I don’t have permission to publish
I remember the Hunter incident well. The RN(?) investgators recruited enthusiastic kids like me, who’d come to look, to comb the beach for Hunter bits the next day. How could we refuse? 🙂
If you can get hold of a copy, there’s a great book called ‘You Are Not Sparrows’ by S.J. Carr (1975 Ian Allan) which has a few funny and hair-raising stories of life flying IIIF’s at Lee in the 30’s .
Thank you Aerotony. The yellow c/s is the one I remember, I was sorry to see she is no more – and quite surprised, considering how many Tigers have been ‘rebuilt’ from wrecks. ‘ACDC is an aeronautical Trigger’s Broom iirc!
I’d love to see more, I grew up in Fareham, and remember HMS Daedalus as it was then in the 60s and 70s being the base for Sea Devons and Herons. The Sea Tiger G-AIVW(?) regularly operated from the slipway in the 60s, I was too young to have a camera then, any shots of that?
Good stuff. Please keep us updated on your project, I have a real fondness for between-wars RAF fighters.
Have you tried the museum at Staverton? Glosters is their specialist subject, and they have built a replica Gamecock…
15, including some guesswork I have to admit..
Could be this? 🙂

The report post facility is at the very bottom of the Key Aero homepage, in the support section (just found it). I’ve reported Pects’ post.
Link if anyone wants it (not spam, honest)!
