Even the producer was unaware that it went out on Monday, it was’nt ment to!!!!
We hope to have the Airframe somewhere near by the end of 2006, with a first flight in 2007.

I’m sure that ‘Blue Max’ will put us straight on it, as I suspect it was ‘Uncle’ David Boddington that built and flew the DC-3 model for Airline.

He also built the BE-2 and Fokker models that were used in the BBC series ‘Wings’ – remember that?

All I’ve seen are some short exerpts, including the opening credits. These feature the models intermixed with the BE-2c replica, heading stage left off the runway on full right rudder, in an incipient ground loop, no doubt after hitting the camera helicopter’s rotor wash!

Certainly did, and not from an Inwoods plan!!!!! think he might have you shot for that!!! They were DB designs built at The DB Models Factory in Irchester Northants, i know, i was there with me dope brush and spray can.
We also made a large scale Auster for the series as well as the DC3’s, six of them i think? not all survived the filming!!!!!!
Shame the second series got cancelled, York’s connies and all sorts were on the drawing board!

I recorded every episode of ‘Airline’ using my old ‘piano key’ VCR, and still have it here, in fact I watched the series again a couple of months ago, which prompted me to go onto e-bay and do a search as a result of which I obtained a 45rpm single of the theme tune by Tony Hatch for the princely sum of £2!

Is it possible to transfer VHS onto DVD? (excuse my ‘Mr Thicky’ mode) I would like to have my Airline series on DVD to preserve the tapes, and I also have a couple of other Dam Buster related VHS tapes I would like to transfer to DVD, any help/pointers/advice gratefully received….

    Regards to all,
    Keith

Yes it is possible, i have just had a couple of feature films that were the american NTSC system transfered to DVD, cost £20 per DVD. PM me if you need more details.

Cliff Robertson, who owned a Spitfire, kept it here in Windsor, Ontario, Canada for over 25 years. It was flown by my freind Jerry Billings, who has more hours in Spits than any other person in the world. Cliff, holds the Worlds Record for the longest glider distance of 240 miles. You can see him on his website flying his Spit over Montreal. Tony

Got a link to the website?

Nick Mason, Pink Floyd drummer, flies helicopters and a replica Piper Cub.

I thought it was Tony Underwood who flew for Easy Jet.

    Neal

Nick Mason has a Robin DR400/160 and a Super(not replica) Cub 150 based at Rendcomb. He also has a Piper L4 somewhere and a Helicopter, was a Bell 206 but i belive he has changed it now.

i just hope they keep it in the uk and it doesn’t make the trip over the atlantic! seems a bit strange that raco have sold it before it even flies? do u think it needed more work than first thought?

More a case that the beurocratic paperwork has now outweighed the aeroplane and it will struggle to get of the ground!!!!!

Thats a real full size Tiger Moth! Its listed as a Replica because it has been assembled in recent times from Spares rather then having come off the DH production line! not the same as the home build kits available. Also means you can opperate it on the PFA!
