Thats good to hear Tony, sorry was only going on what was mentioned when I was out there last a couple of years ago, I think there was a mag issue then.
Interesting that the RE8 and the DVa are also on the list, speaking to someone from the RAFM yesterday I was told that after the display yesterday they would fly no more, interesting.
Stan I have seen it up close on visits to Baldonnell, loverly aeroplane that sadly does not fly very much. I dont think that the skills are there anymore to keep her well maintained 😮
Good to see a Ruskin DC3 in the first pic 😀
I know what you mean, I recently watched the whole series again after not seeing it for many years. My wife who had never seen it before was instantly hooked as well.
Hi Black Night, no they were not fliers. All the flying was done with R/C Models. All the Replica’s apart from the demoisel were built by my Uncle with the help of others that worked for him. The Demoisel was built by a chap called Andrew Newickie and purcased for the series. “Emma” was totaly out of Uncle Davids imagination!! We also built the R/c Models for the series as well and as a kid I spent one happy summer school holiday on the set in Yorkshire.
The Blackburn Mercury still exists and is at Elvington, as for the other I dont know but would love to know if they are still about. After they were removed from “Flambards” village they disappeared!!
Isnt that the very rare Beech 36 ???? 😀
Great news, thanks CaptChaos. Bill will be so pleased.
Bill was over the moon and very supprised by the award. Well deserved and a loverley man. he is planing to pop into Sywell on his way up North.
Cowl is different on the IWM example compared to the TVAL new build ?
Good to see 54922 out and about for a change 🙂 They are Pyro’s on the Cub Wing tips 😀
Indeed it was, and some bloke was laying down on the job infront of them:D
How detailed do you need ?
Fokker Triplane back at Sywell so RE8 should be safe:) BE2 is waiting willing and able, just waiting for the call 🙂
So when are they off to Duxford?
The last U.K owner of the Mosquito was the Strathallen Collection and I recall no problems with access or the warmth of welcome at the collection .
I think the reference was to Doug Arnold.
