What is happening with this one now? Is it returning to the UK?
Yes it is.
Daz you only had to ask!
This was built by John Tettley and a frieand many years ago. Full size with a ply box type construction and was going to be powered by a Gipsy Major. Various issues arose and it was not completed and the project abandoned. John went on to build a replica SE5 to the original drawings and powered with an Hispano Suiza which untill recently was flying with the Memorial Flight in France.
:eek::eek:
CofA expired in 2007 so that might explain why its not been seen out and about.
Has the Yak 3 Arrive in The Uk Yet Or Is It Still In Germany ?
Its been in the UK for some time.
Not sure the name of the pilot or who owned the aircraft but one display that sticks in my mind as a kid. Sea Fury (invasion stripes) at Biggin Hill in the 80’s doing a perfect (and I mean perfect) 8 point hesitation roll at low level.
.
I would think that would have been Pete Shepard in the RNHF FB11 🙂

His voice as others have said is that of the airshows of my youth. I seem to remenber that as kids we wiuld be left by John as dad displayed and would not dare utter a word!!! RIP John you will be much missed and always remembered.
