Mvls 😀 Many thanks.
So much of the original airframe will have to be thrown away if NX611 is to be returned to the air under the CAA that it would be a substantially new & different NX611 after rebuild. The owners can do whatever they wish with NX611, its their right, however we should all be grateful for having experienced the real NX611 before some new millenium rebuild takes the place of a very original ex RAF & French airframe………its a shame Just Jane will not be allowed to carry on being the Just Jane she´s always been:rolleyes: and already fulfilling a wonderful role recreating the atomosphere of the airfield as it was in WW2
May i ask what you base that statement on?????? Have you carried out a survey of this airframe?? Are you qualified to make such statements??
What wonderfull tresures! where did that Camel come from?? didnt realise they had two!!! looks like a flyable replica?
Have just been informed that Channel 4 have now pulled the date of the 9th as they dont wont it to go up against BBC “Life” and channel 5’s “Flash Forward”. No indication of a new transmision date as yet.

Must be the ugliest Taylor Mono i have ever seen!!!!!!!!!

Funniest thing i saw was when a friend of mine was refueling a large high wing taildragger ( want say which one to protect the inosent;)) which required the use of a ladder that lent against the wing leading edge. He had not placed chocks in the wheels and the fuel instalation had a very slight slope away from the pumps. As he was standing on the ladder filling the tank the A/C began to move away from him backwards! He was instantly aware that the A/C did not need to move far before the ladder lost contact with the wing!!!!! The final moments of him going in one dirrection, fuel hose in another and the ladder and A/C heading down the will stay with me forever:D
Always fly with my green nomex jobs, even if not flying open cockpit! Apart from anything else i find i have a better feel on the controls with gloves and the benifits inthe event of a fire are obvious.
Looks like a good day
Maurice Hammock’s Mustangs are both as are his other craft turned out immaculately.

Great shots, how many of the WW1 guys were there??
Josephs collection of aircraft is well worth seeing, it was once housed at Sandown on the Isle of White.
I was at breighton a few years back when that flew it had engine trouble but prior to that was in a dogfight with the hurricane, then in the distance you could hear popping & on my scanner i heard taff say he had engine trouble, he did a flyby and you could see flames from the engine.
It did a fast circuit and came into land very quickly engine shut down as soon as it landed & fire crew came out with extinguishers!
The hurricane got it!
I belive that was the display for Taffs 60th birthday, and that Hurricane was a Spitfire MH434 flown by Nigel Lamb.
A very tense few minutes was had by those on the ground while taff tried to get the Buchon down safely.
It was a carburator problem that caused fuel to pour into the engine cowling and not allow the engine to either idle or open up correctly.
“The Hurricane Got it” remark i find slightly misplace when you think what could have happened!
