No problem. I’ll sell you a fully airworthy Clutton FRED for ten thousand pounds less than that! :diablo:

The Auster is very much the product of its times.
A (forgive the pun) austerity-built Taylorcraft with a pre-war Gipsy Major or Cirrus engine up front.

They are tricky to land, sometimes ponderous, thirsty, smelly, oily, and leak when it rains – as a Tiger Moth owner ‘AHY, you should love it!

Not sure the FRED classes as Historic!!!!!!!

That Buchon picture and the Camel/Triplane ones are superb action shots, congratulations.

That will be a Nieuport 17 not a Camel;)

Am I right in thinking he once owned or flew a 1930s Fairey biplane?

    Moggy

Built and flew the Fairey Flycatcher now in FAA Museum, sad news indeed. RIP John:(

Yes that’s the definition I got out of it too. But then again, they do include those planes they have a permit to fly.

I don’t think they’ve used “visiting” in their headline before. Correct me if I’m wrong.

The TF 51 “Miss Velma” is a TFC A/C.

    The DR1 G-FOKI is actualy G-FOKK.:)

Nope, just trying to get a little bit of reality check on here. Some people seem to think that just because they want to see these aeroplanes fly then it dosent matter what anybody says they will. I am sure TFC are working their hardest to resolve the situation but the reality is that is they do not have current permits they cannot fly.
What ever happens it will still be a great weekend, but some people really need to get a grip on the real world!

    I’ll be there, will you??:D

Out of interest, which of the TFC fleet flew at the May show at Duxford (or any other shows this year)?

Did G-INFO read ‘suspended’ for them at that time too? If so then clearly it doesn’t mean they won’t fly this weekend just because of what it says on G-INFO.

    Hopefully.

    Willow

Suspended means suspended! means no Permit in place! means no fly!!!

Mmmm – wonder what they’re using for Earhart’s L10E Electra that she disappeared in. As far as I know there’s only one other L10E extant and that’s a long term restoration project that isn’t airworthy. I think there are a couple of L10A’s airworthy including the one Linda Finch recreated Earhart’s round the world trip in……
Just so long as they don’t use a Beech 18 :eek::(

So you didnt watch the trailer then:rolleyes:

Also the TFC Blog will answer your question:)

How dumb is it that people are going on what G-INFO says?…..there is a vast amount of work going on to get aircraft ‘ticketed’ no doubt….forget G-INFO….just turn up and what will fly will be what you see! G-INFO is fine for general non time critical info…these days leading up to an airshow are like a military planning exercise and very changeable.

This thread is making me grumpy! (Yes I know I can ignore it, but I for one love Legends and all its stands for which is one word for me… ‘Fun’)…BTW I will be easy to spot as I will be the guy with a cheshire cat grin and a tear in his eye as the Spits roll and loop around!!

So if you are going to FL…stop whinging and just polish your lens and wait and see to see what turns up….I am sure you will like it anyway….

If you are not going to FL….just stop whinging!

If you are using G-INFO, or the bloke down the pub to give you info….keep it to yourself!!

Whether you like it or not GINFO is updated regularly and is very accurate, i have recently done several Cof A renewalls, on the day the application arrived it showed on GINFO as arriving that day, on the day the CofA’s were issued they appeared on GINFO within 2 days. As far as i know it is updated every 3 – 5 days at the very least.

But at the end of the day what ever is there it will be a great show, so stop moaning and go if you want to go and you will have a great day out.

She is based at Rendcomb with the rest of the owners fleet. The work in the UK was done by Cliff Lovel.

If you have an enthusiasm for airworthy WW2 aircraft, and you know that it is the probably the premier global event for such aeroplanes, and if you believe that the Fighter Collection still have the organisational knowledge and connections which they have shown over the last 15 years………..

then you could just take a crazy chance, and go anyway.;)

And a smattering of WW1 to;)
