dont know abt the rest, but the tiger incident was very real. and it is also a fact that US soilders reguarly have drunken parties there, without the approval of the zoo keepers, who had no way of stopping them.

im sure that this sort of stupid behavior is an exception and not the norm, but its still pretty bad press to say the least.

lets not forget all the attacks that only result in injuries or no castalies.

i regually hear on skynews abt how US forces come under around a dosen attacks a day. great job on their part for not taking that many casaulties (compared to the number of attacks), however it will be VERY demoralising and tireing to have to keep fully focused from the start of ur shift right to the end. it gets given worse if ppl take pop shots at u every now and then.

on the matter of why ppl dont get along. well i personally think some ppl take the ‘freedom of speech’ thing a little too far. after all, being able to say anything u like dont mean u have to say everything that comes to ur head. a little bit of consideration can save us all alot of time and bother.

get ur history right first. the PRC didnt enter the war in korea until the UN, opss, US forces were within a stone through of the Yalu river (boarder with china). thats quite a long way from where the line of control is now. oh, the PLA also forced the US army to go on its longest continuous retreat in history, and they did this with close to no heavy weapons and air cover. i’d say if anyone lost ‘that round’, it was the US.

as for the sino-vietnam war. well, unlike someone who got sucked into a war of attrition, a war that could not be won without wiping out the vietnamese population, we got in, achieve our objectives in less than a month and got out. thats got to be better then slugging in out for 10 years not only unable to achieve ur objectives but having been kicked out at then end.
