Schreiner airways did a lot of flying with fixed wing aircraft and helicopters for oil companies.
They also operated crew transport for oil companies in Nigeria.

When commercial flying had a particular bad spell in Nigeria with companies going bust, or being grounded for safety reasons in the late nineties Shreiner actually started this airline aero (contractors) in Nigeria but the company has become independent since.
Schreiner has merged with CHC helicopters in 2005

    very nice series.:)

My respect for sticking it out through the shortest and darkest days of the year in what normally already is a very wet place.

    Merry christmas to you all

thanks for the replies guys and great sets of photos Culpano

The scanning of the slides is something I have been practising for many years,
I have the advantage that I always used fujifilm which unlike kodachrome makes automatic removal of dustspots and scrachtes possible. The scanning is done with a Nikon Coolscan V which has 4000dpi resolution, though this is not needed for the relatively small pictures in this posting.
Processing is done in photoshop CS4, not a particular choice but this happens to be what I have. In most cases I have to adjust the levels (make the ruler start at both the left and right side) and I mostly apply automatic contrast to punch up the colors. The grain is reduced with filter/noise/reduce noise usually at level 4 or 5 setting. For some heavier cases you can use add-ons like noise ninja. The reducing noise normally also helps to improve sharpness, but sometimes the unsharp mask is needed to improve the image.

Here is another series. These have been on photobucket for several years so photobucket has been compressing them several times. Still usuable I hope

nice crisp shots 🙂 and some good cathes!

I was there about a day and a half this week but did not see any retro’s or other special colours. Also 2 attempts at nailing the Aires in the sun failed. Aires did compensate in an other way though.

I look forward to seeing more!
