I have a series from a single flight. Vienna to Tokyo on an Austrian A340.
The weather was not very nice for departure

Soon we were through the night and flying toward sunrise in the east

As we are in a nostalgic mood, I cannot recall Sabena ever flying 727’s though.
Nice old Dan Air picture Peter! I only saw their last livery
Icelandair flew the short 727 well into the 80’s
Next to Pan Am, TWA and United also flew 727’s on european networks

For the technical discussion on engines, I think this is the Valsan modification Longshot means. The 2 outer engines are effectively MD80 pods and engines. also see the different trust reversers
