Spitfire looks to be coming along very nicely!
My dad and brother got a chance to look at her close up last month.
As the correct Rotol prop and spinner are being used to replace the old DH prop, it would be nice if the correct tapered cannon shrouds (as per EE602) could be fitted, instead of the later MKIX/XVI ‘e’ armament type, as was fitted.

“I wouldn’t tell the C.O. that, Sir”
Subsequently re-cycled.

It must have been ‘Sticky U/C lever day’!
Watching various footage of the event, I note that MK732 wasn’t the only aircraft to have gear retraction problems.
P7350 seemed to get have it’s stb gear leg stuck down during gear up selection, as did the Seafire III!
I heard the latter on the R/T being advised, and confirming that he got it sorted out.

Anyone know what the crosswind limitations are for these aircraft ?
Usually 10 to 15kts.
From the forecast I saw, it looks like the winds might not be quite as strong as first forecast.
I’m sure they could use runway 24 if the wind across 14/32 is above limits.
Fingers crossed!

Lovely shots Anna.
I saw them late this afternoon heading in the direction of Goodwood.

Just been watching the Goodwood Revival live, and sadly the Vulcan has had to cancel it’s display due to a fuel leak, and is returning to Doncaster.

Morgan and Shacklady #1 for sure, but also an honourable mention for The Spitfire Story by Alfred Price
Oh, I forgot about that one! 😮
I’d recommend that too, especially if you are into the handling and performance side of the Spitfire.

The book I still reach for most often for basic information is:-
Spitfire -The story of a famous Fighter by Bruce Robertson.
First published in 1960 and revised in 1961 & 1973.
Mark
Me too!
Along with the Morgan & Shacklady book, I’d say if push came to shove and I was allowed only two Spitfire books, these would be the two.
I have the 1973 edition with Mark12’s list of the then currently known Spitfire survivors around the world.
I’d also recommend Bruce Robertson’s ‘Camouflage & Markings’ by the same publisher, as well.

Has anyone heard how the pilot is doing?? My thoughts are with him and his family as well as my condolences to those that lost loved ones that day……..
I just read on AOL news that he’s been moved to a specialist unit at an undisclosed location, and still in a medically induced coma.

The BBC has posted an interview with a member of the British Association for Immediate Care who was one of the people who treated him at the scene.

The ever-reliable Global Aviation Resource write-up on last year’s Shoreham Airshow reports that Chris Heames and Andy Hill each displayed the Hunter on one of the two days of the event.
I’ve just watched footage from last years Shoreham display by WV372 filmed on both days by different people, and the differences in the displays flown support this.
