I know this ones a bit late, but saw the Utterly Butterlies going to Shoreham & back last Thursday.

A Hunter this afternoon going into Dunsfold for tomorrows display, not the FG9, but was black so most probably G-VETA.

Also saw our very Melvin Hiscock’s Rearwin G-EVLE south abeam the town later on!

    Cheers

    Peter Vacher’s Hurricane Mk.1

    Thanks!

Just heard the Dunsfold controller saying that the Hunter is due to arrive in 20 minutes. 🙂

Current display list and timings are the same as on the current website. The only real change has been the loss of the Sea Hawk because currently there’s no way to start the aircraft.

Provisionally, BBMF, Hawk and Tucano won’t be operating from Dunsfold and will be touring acts – A pair of Harriers is due to finish the show with the spare landing prior to the display ship going straight into his show before landing. The Hunter FGA9 looks to be operating from Dunsfold however and should be a grand sight.

    Thanks for that airshowsorguk.

I was hoping for maybe one or too more Warbirds but I guess that’s being greedy! Btw, do you know who’s Hurricane it is that’s been booked?

I was hoping the BBMF would land the Spits there like last year (the Lanc flew straight in for it’s display) as it seems it is the only show they are booked for. Lee Howard says that the Sea Fury should be landing if all goes to plan.

Oh, and a forum meet sounds fine to me!

    Thanks for the update Lee.

Looks like you guys were very busy indeed!

Look forward to seeing the Sea Fury at Dunsfold this weekend. 😀

Btw, is she landing at there?

I’ll be there too, as my Grandad has already booked the Veterans tickets which means he and someone else gets in for £20 plus have the use of a flightline enclosure and designated parking! 🙂

Maybe this is something other shows should consider! 😉

I enjoyed last years event (despite the weather being a touch like it has been for the past two weeks) and though the motoring part was a nice touch.

With the plans to turn this historic site into a ‘small town’, this could well be the last show that is held there, so it might be a good idea to come to one of the few Home Counties airfields that still exists. 🙁

Btw, I’ve been keeping an eye on the Wings & Wheels site and the list of participants is pretty much the same as it was when it was first put up. Are they any additions to it that you are allowed to tell us about Melv or should we just wait and see?

    Cheers

I’ll look forward to seeing ‘434 at Goodwood. 1st time in 2 years for me!

    Should be good.

But do I go to DX or take a 30 minute trip across the downs?

It seems they are planning a tribute to Ray Hanna at the Revival on each day as he and his aircraft have been regulars there since the start. 🙂

I think you forgot the K!

    12. Why cant he get a nighthood, he has done so much more for a nation in my mind than some people that get it. How can all these football team managers and sports stars get it and a guy who was legendry in a time of great national danger and in the end triumph not get it.

Perhaps because unlike football team mangers & sports stars, he only comes out during the day.

    Thanks for the list Ratty.

    Who are Air Leasing btw?

Or is that a typo perhaps and it is in fact the Grace Spitfire?

Anyway, good to see PL965 & the Bayliss machine have been invited! 😀

    Oh, and PT462 also!

    Nice picture Chad. 🙂

I forgot post this on here when I first uploaded it, but here’s Taff Smith flying the RAC’s Buchon G-BWUE at this years Flying Legends were she made her public debut. 😀

    G-BWUE FL2006 Display

As you can hear (and those who were there will testify), it was VERY gusty on the Sunday, so well done Taff for the the take off and landing, which any 109/Buchon pilot will tell you are tricky enough in calm conditions! 😮

No – I think you will find that it is owned by Dunsfold Park/The Rutland Group and is regularly hired out for filming etc.

It’s owned by Aces High actually. 😉

Isnt the 747 being scrapped after filming?

As you say, no plans to scrap it as it comes in handy for films.

It might not be long though before Dunsfold is ‘scrapped’ as the Rutland Group (the airfields present owners) plan to redevelop it into a new housing complex. 😡

Time to get writing I think.

    Thanks for that Black-Panther.

I didn’t know this was the plan. 🙁

Another one of our Historic airfields to add to the list that survived the Luftwaffe but not ideas of the planners. 😡

With the proposed housing development on Dunsfold, it makes you wonder if we’ll have any of the important wartime airfields left.

    Very nice pictures Steve.

Like the one of the Spit coming head on with the mountain behind. 😀

Looks like a nice little show! 🙂

    Thanks for the HU Simon.

    I agree with Bruce.

Absolutley no need for it to be there.

And would the residents of Duxford village want a huge service station right next to the village?

    I would have thought not.

    Cheers
