Absolutley stunning pictures Gareth. ๐
Looks like it was a cracking show!
Good to see some visitors from DX in the form of the TFC Corsair & MH434.
Btw, is the headrest on 434 being serviced? :p
Cheers
Paul
Lovely pictures Septic.
Just one question.
Who flew EP120 during the Spit tailchase/duo with Lee Proudfoot in 434?
Cheers
Paul
I saw them too, but aren’t they a little early for Farnborough ???
Display practice. ๐

A Four Engined Bomber Overhead!
A V1 ‘Doodlebug’ heading East from Milton Keynes
… perhaps the surprise anticipated for Legends. ๐
I sort of more heard it rather than saw it.
Well if it wasn’t a pulse jet it must have been a large military helicopter. ๐
Mark
Mark, I don’t think that is the surprise you know, as I’ve just heard what sounded like four Bristol Hercules overhead a few minutes ago. ๐
I guess this must be the Short Stirling from China or wherever it was right?
I think it may well have taken off from Dunsfold!
Cheers
Paul
Many thanks all! ๐
I hope to be downing a few pints of Spitfire or some other top ale soon! ๐

Bradburger – Do they really ban TR.IX’s from taking part ? Sounds bizarre!
Well, banned might be a bit too strong a term as PV202 was allowed as a static exhibit last year (photo evidence below), but then if you are the owner of one……
There was a disscussion a while back on here about the reason for them no longer appearing, with various answers as to why the were no longer part of the Legends programme – the main one being what Roobarb mentioned.
Looking back at various FL videos from the mid 90’s, IIRC, the Grace Spit ML407 & PV202 appeared at all the Legends up until 1999 I think.
After that, they weren’t booked anymore. ๐

Paul
Thank you for information Petter ๐ I cant find anywhere if any off Pete’s Hanger 11 collection is going to FL I hope his he has A brilliant collection of Three brilliant WWII fighters.
James
Sadly James none of his aircraft have been booked (FL was not listed on the H11 2006 events), hence why you can’t find them listed! ๐
I guess finding pilots might have been a problem, but it would have added another Spitfire (the only airworthy MKXI btw), Mustang and the only P40 in Europe to the roster!
Oh by the way it’s a good job you saw that Irish T9 today, it won’t be on show at the weekend-too many Yaks. Hang on aren’t they trainers……….thought they wern’t allowed ๐
Roobarb, I was going to mention the absence of the TRIX’s, as it seems a crying shame they aren’t allowed to take part anymore. ๐ก
Still, it keeps the ‘Oh no, not more Spitfires’ brigade happy I’m sure! :p
Cheers
Paul
Sorry, totally disagree! I think they are extremely professional and exciting to watch and they just don’t do enough shows! Seeing a team of Yaks in the air together is not something you see every day!
I agree also.
Whilst I haven’t seen them live, they always look like they put on a top class display.
However, I was surprised they have been booked for Legends.
Whilst they are piston powered, I don’t think you could really call them Historic aircraft!
Still it will be nice to see them perfom ‘live’.

Munter,
That is very sad news indeed. ๐
His obituary was in the Times this morning and there was also a small piece and recent picture in the Mirror too (holding the Corgi model mentioned earlier), which was something of a suprise! ๐ฎ
R.I.P George.
Paul
Happy Birthday Mike. ๐
And many thanks for all the pics! ๐
Have a good one.
Paul
Very interesting.
Thanks for posting aero 51.
On the same site there is another compelation of crashes, one of which is hoof proudfoot in the lightning at legends. Do the people who put these clips on the web not realise these are people dying and is upsetting for people who were there and knew the deceased? I just think its ridiculous that people actually enjoy watching these videos.
Anybody thoughts guys?
Yes, I noticed these clips to.
The first clip of the P38 crash I came across was someoneโs personal camcorder footage when I typed in Duxford in the search box. I did post a comment saying that I was surprised that footage of a fatal was allowed to be posted, and flagged it as inappropriate.
A few days ago, the same person posted a recording of the BBC Look East report of the crash.
However, perhaps the sickest video I saw was a compilation of crash clips by some joker, most of which were fatal accidents including the Ramstein disaster, to some music. ๐

Good news Triumph. ๐
Just hope she makes a few flights over my house at some stage! ๐
Look forward to seeing here at the Dunsfold show. ๐

Paul
Thanks for that Daz.
Very interesting! ๐

Very funny and clever! ๐
Thanks for posting.
I’m suprised the PC brigade hasn’t started having a pop at these yet as they might deem them as ‘offensive to some’.
We’ll, I say more please! ๐
Oh, and I really would like to see Sheperd Neame bring out some more Aircraft named beers with flavour and tastes to match.
I’ve always liked the idea of ordering a pint of ‘Thunderbolt’!
Cheers
Paul
Thanks for the update Lee.
Good to see no major damage or injury to the pilot occured from the bird strike! ๐
Mind you, it was very lucky it didn’t hit something a lot bigger (the Sea Fury that is) at last years second Military Pageant at Old Warden! ๐ฎ
Hopefully she’ll be fit for Legends as intended.
Cheers
