Daz,
I believe Steve Connor was working on a DVD release a while back with extra footage and stuff.
But as we haven’t heard anymore about it and with the sad closing of his site, he might he might not be releasing it any more.
Shame, as he was mentioned that the ‘Flight In A Blenhiem’ would also be making it on to DVD as well as some of those classic “Flying Machine” Airshow videos from yesteryear as well! 🙁
In the meantime, you’ll probably be best doing what MOTF says as they have been showing it a lot recently!
Or maybe you’ll find the original video (better than the TV version IMHO) somewhere.
Cheers
Paul
🙂 🙂

Ok not, real but at least I won’t have the Authorities after me! 😀

This one do?

Apologies for the scrathes and stuff.

Taken at the 1988 Spitfire show at DX btw.

Hi Steve
There was a series released about ten years ago called ‘Pilots Eye’ which was a set of five videos in all.
They Planes featured were:
The Spitfire
The Hurricane
The Lancaster
The ME109 (Black 6)
The Tornado
I have all but the Lanc & Tornado ones. All are hosted by Cliff Spink except for the Lanc video and include cockpit mini cam footage. 🙂
I found them rather good (if not rather expensive side at the time!), although the Spitfire one could have been better.
But despite this minor niggle, they are a worthy additon to any collection.
They are still available here btw:
http://www.transair.co.uk/product4.asp?SID=2&Product_ID=1038
Still on the expensive side IMO and sadly no sign of a DVD release.
Also available is an excellent video called “Spitfire – The Pilots Eye” which features mini cam footage of Tony Bianchi in AR213.
You can get it here:

Only thing is these are in the PAL format so I hope your video machine is dual format one!
Hope this helps
Paul
I remember seeing this once a LONG time ago also…thought to myself “What MORON would actually be dumb enough to screw up the planes and markings THIS BADLY in a movie?” Funny thing is…looking now, with that deep chin on the Hispanos, it allows the paint to run under the nose and in the screen shot above, SOMEWHAT look like a Spit! Still…does this one merit a ‘worst of all time’ aviation movie kudo?
Mark
Probably does Corsair but what about the “1000 Plane Raid”?
It was on on of the satellite channels a few weeks ago and I was reminded again how awful it was! 😮
However, there was some prety good low flying by a B17 in it. At one point I’m sure the tailwheel touched the ground on one of the passes!
Maybe we should have a poll on the worst aviation movies to find out which one we think is a stinker!

No I don’t think it is Steve! 🙂
120 minutes sounds good to me.
I enjoyed the DVD you did of the 2002 show with the extra unedited mini cam footage. I also liked the idea to include the list of participants and those that flew them.
Are you doing the same again on this disc?
Also, was the pilots briefing filmed? I’ve enjoyed seeing this on some of the other videos in the past and it kind of adds an important behind the scenes element for me.
Btw, is it DD publishing the video/DVD this year? I could have sworn I saw a sign on their stall at Legends saying so.

Well I must admit I was silly not to ask permission from Steve if I could use his work in my avatar! 😮 😮 😮 😮
So apologies my sincerest apologies Steve.
And it’s now been removed.
And I’m also very sorry that you have had to close your site down.
A real shame IMO. 🙁

ML407 perhaps?
According to the Grace website, it was down to do a display at Plympton yesterday (sat).

I think you’ll find that these are the same Lancs as ones in the link I posted in my original post.
Should save you from D/L them more than once!

Paul
Umm what can I say?
I suppose the sentence “A bunch of Tossers” springs to mind.
I think these are the ones polluting the atmosphere – with their bull****.
These kind of people make me sick 😮

You could try Dave Garwoods:

No working VC but otherwise, it’s not a bad model.
He has some other goodies on his site too! 😉

To be honest they don’t look as good as the FB spitfires IMHO. And the best Spits you can get for FS2002/CFS2 are the Paul Rebuffat ones. 😉
Yep, the Rebuffat Spits are curently the best for FS/CFS2.
Just a shame he lost the Gmax source files! 🙁

That’s a nice Spit Chris.
FB I assume?

Chris,
I addressed some of my concerns to Bazzar from Aeroplane Heaven regarding problems with the 3D modelling, especially the MKIX. When compared to the screenshots of the other Spits, it certainly has the poorest shape with many mistakes, and after seeing the great job he’s done so far on PV202, I was rather surprised how poor it was.
I also pointed out the out of proportion roundels on some machines and the early style horn balance on the MKXIX. He says that he has taken my comments on board but also that the pictures we are seeing are from development so things like the horn balance will be corrected for the final build.
I just hope the MKIX gets remodelled! 😮
I do know for a fact that the cockpits will be super detailed and other parts like radio hatches & the mechanical flap & gear indicator’s etc. will be modelled so from that point they should be great. But at the same time I guess I would rather see an accurately shaped Spit than a inaccurate one with all the super detail.
Cheers
Paul
Nice shot Dave.
Looks like a great day.
Shame the roundels on 434 weren’t fixed whilst they did the codes and nose art!
Stewart, the codes have been changed especially for the show as Group Captain Aleksander Gabszewicz was based there and in charge of two wings in the area, so 434 has been painted up in his codes as she was in 1998 also.
