Attacker
Does anyone know of any Attackers in existence other than the Yeovilton aircraft? Pakistan?
What’s Next
Okay ET,
You’ve let the Tiger out of the bag, what’s next?
Seadog
Spitfire Formations
I think you might get the definitive answer and some very nice pictures from Jeanne Frazer, now Display Director at Duxford who organized all of the recent Spitfire fly pasts. She has a beautiful picture displayed in her home of the largest of the Balboas just crossing the Channel taken by John Dibbs from above an to the right. It is also autographed by all the participants.
FW-190
When was that taken, and does anyone know where?
Andover
Isn’t there one for sale on one of the disposal sites? Think it might be this one.
TBD Link
Knew that they had been found. Had not seen the site nor heard anything about them for a while. Thanks for the link.
Whirlwind?
Excellent link.
What was the story with the Whirlwind? Why was it so unsuccessful and/or unheralded? Or was it?
A couple of questions.
1. Who technically owns (should it be there) the aircaft today? The MOD? The custodian of the lake?
2. What authorization would be needed to either search for it, or raise it should it be found?
3. What is the manager of the fishing center basing his statements on? Personal experience? Local lore?
Un-folding
Thanks for that Mk12!
Surprise
This one took me a bit by surprise. By the thread title I was expecting a time line of Seafire/SX336 shots, “unfolding” from 1970’s till now. If we could prevail upon you MK12, one “before” and one “after” shot would be nice to see.
😉
Seafire Dive
Was it fresh or salt water?
Seafire
Not the Seafire, which I hear is making its debut at Shuttleworth next weekend.
Seafire XV
Does anyone know what has become of the Fisk Seafire XV?
Credits
Tim Manna has asked me to pass along the following credits and thanks to Pete Walker, Dave Horsfield, Phil Evinden, Alan Allen, and Bob Furgeson. Yes, there were many people involved along the way, and lots of well dones handed out, but in the end, the Seafire has flown because these folks put their hearts into it over the last five years. Without them, it would most likely be another project still in the making. Well done guys and many thanks.
