    You bugger! Excellent! You should have pushed me out of the way! As you can see, the camera is slung – thats a video camera in my hands. Jim was telling me the story of his kill (only operational flight in a year I believe!) at the time. Rather a nice bit of footage…..

    (He was, of course, in a Sea Hurri, though adapted for CAM work, when he went into action).

    Funny thing is, while I was snapping Jim, two other guys, ex-6 Sqdn (I think) Hurri pilots also came up and I got some pix of the three of them. You’d be surprised how many of the old boys still go and look.

    Although I was very pleased to be able to do this for Jim Stewart, DFC. You can’t see the Caterpillar or Goldfish very well though. Jim shot down a Condor, ditched, and was picked up whilst with the MSFU – after it had been officially disbanded! The caterpillar came when he was shot down by flak with 609. He evaded while in France (I have pictures of him in Paris with Germans wandering around nearby!) but was betrayed and sent to Fresnes first, then Buchenwalde (accidentally) before going to a regular Stalag. A wonderful chap whom I was very pleased to spend some time with.
