I had two 28-200mm lenses years back, both went nuts on me (everything out of focus) and returned them – both were immediately swapped for brand new ones. Their customer service is second to none in my experience. Optical quality has no complaint either.

In all honesty though, out of warranty repairs are a major expense, and you would do better to bin the lens and buy a new one, or if its not something you want to pay over the odds for, a secondhand one.

Hmm, could have sized the treasury from the Siq better I guess.

Absolutely stunning. Had a couple of hours there before closing, was going to go back in the morning, then unfortunately had to bug out to Beirut and catch a flight home in a hurry – wife was rushed into hospital back at home. But if you really want to see somewhere mind-blowing, Petra in Jordan is the place. NOTHING I have ever seen compares, period. Baalbek is not stunning in as much as being a magnificent building, more in its ‘entirety’ – pretty much complete. All my pictures, other than a few ‘returns’ are up in the roof – i’ll go and dig some out tomorrow. For now though, heres the Monastery at Petra. There are a few more down here of Petra too – including rock formations. I was bored/fed-up with ruins by then, but Petra really was mind-blowing. Never known anywhere with so much impact. I’m not sure about the present situation, but is it not still possible for Israeli’s visit Jordan? Perhaps not desirable for ‘political’ reasons, but is the border still open? I realise Syria and Lebanon are out – I had to change my passport to get to them, as the Israeli stamp would have got me turned around at the border.
