I loved it flying. Absolutely splendid. It’s a FW190, I’m pretty sure there were 190’s in WW2 changed, tampered, repaired and fixed to which the originality of it were less than perfect. It was amazing to see.
Nikon D40.
I found out how to change the shutter speed just now. Didn’t take too much work. 😀
Yes I know. I got the camera just 3 days before and I tried to adjust it during the event, but was unsuccesfull. Next year it will be 100%. Next time I read manual BEFORE legends 😀
Cheers!:D

Thanks for the help. I saw the website earlier but they have no e-mail for these enquiries it seems.
I don’t want to give out his name or his nationality as he knows nothing of this at all, but he served in England from 41 to the end of the war. He flew Hurricanes attacking shipping (I think he once mistook a French airfield for a British one and almost landed there…or landed and took off again). Then he flew Spitfire IIa’s, V’s and IX’s. Wounded during the Dieppe raid, but back on missions quite shortly after it. He became squadron leader before going on rest in early 43. Back in service, he joined 2nd TAF into Europe. A real character.
Sounds more like a Ford Anglia than an actual person.!
Didn’t Stephen Gray use some of same words? 😀
Absolutely splendid weekend 😀
As always, magnificent show.
My brother, a first timer, pointed out that he thought the Spitfires sort of lost the spotlight to the 109 and 190 because they were flown to soft and too slow.
The TFC fleet didn’t fly, but the show didn’t loose much quality…a little bit I have to admit, but the aircrafts that did come, really did make up for most of it. Sad not to see two Gladiators flying, but I don’t dwell on those parts, I focus on the positive and there were maaany of them.
Is it just me or was the french guy absolute hyperactive this time around? He went absolute nuts. No UFO and alien theories though, which was a sad, as I loved that comment last year. I don’t mind his expertise at all, which he got, but maybe someone should tell him to pipe down when the planes fly by as so we can hear the engines? However, on saturday we stayed behind the Mustangs, and we did not hear one pip from the guy…just place yourself in a strategically good position and he won’t annoy you. No need to go places where you have a speaker in your face.
We were seated at Gold pas on sunday and the guy just couldn’t stop talking. And it was JUST him this time around..the others barely spoke.
Happy to meet a few fans of my “foreigners guide” from Holland at the Eagle Pub on Friday. If they’re on this forum, be sure to say hello. Caught me rather off guard as I did not think anyone read my rubbish at all!
French P-51D, P-40, Spitfire and FW 190 took off from La Ferte Alais this early afternoon heading to DX.
:eek::D:D:D:D:eek:
Nothing new on G-INFO. Last updated yesterday at 21:00. 🙁
How does the situation with the much loved and flown in the UK new build Vimy with it’s car engines compare to the very nice Flugwerk 190’s?
Brilliant :D:diablo:
DCK – I wouldn’t tell the ‘White One’ guys that! There is a very real chance that a genuine rebuilt FW-190 will fly in the next few years in the U.S powered by BMW’s finest !
Apologize for not knowing of this restoration, but my point still stands sort of. I doubt this example will be coming to Duxford any time soon 🙂
Therefore whilst you might think you are seeing a WWII warbird -you are not .
Who said it was trying to be?
It looks like a FW190. There will most likely never be a *real* 190 flying ever again. This is what we got. It looks like a WWII warbird, it’s probably not far from flying like one either. That’s enough to me to cherish, love it and even wee in my pants when it flies past me. 😀
All there is left now is the TFC fleet in the air!
metcheck.com has the best forecast I’ve seen, so that’s how it will be then 😀
