I’d love to see the maps 🙂 Thankyou kindly.
LONDON AIRPORT IN 1961, 1964, 1967…
(If anyone would like to see the labels for the maps I can upload that part of the maps too. 😉
1961-62…
1964-65…
1967-68…
More 737-200 jets from the early 1980s…
Air Algerie 737 new white livery – previous markings had been red cheat and tail
Air France 737-200 – I don’t think they kept these very long
TAP Air Portugal 737-200 – a lovely livery
British Airtours 737-200 – Airtours markings echoed the British Airways livery
British Airways 737-200 – BA’s first 737s were on lease from Transavia in these markings
Euralair 737-200 – at Palma
EAL European Air Lines 737-200 at EAL base: Hurn. EAL also sell used parts so many of these jets get stripped there
Lufthansa 737-200 – the 737s that took over from the early 100 series flew in a brighter version of the 1967 livery
SABENA 737-200 – This jet type took over from the 727 and wore these markings when introduced in 1973
Dan Air London 737-200 – wearing the original 707 livery but I think this may have been a lease-in
What a lovely set of photos, guys. Many rare images amongst them! Sweet as Cartman would say. 😉
[QUOTE=TRIDENT MAN;1752661]How about a Martinair F28 😀
The ones I recall are the Braathens Fellowship at Gatwick and the Iberia (crew training) Fellowships at Heathrow.
Here is Terminal 2 and QB in 1959. No T1 as yet. At that time T2 was called No1 Passenger Terminal. By 1962 it was called Europa Terminal with the new Terminal 3 being called Oceanic Terminal.
If you want to see maps of how the airport was in 1961, 1965 and 1968 I can post these maps.

Pity British airports don’t have the same visitor friendly approach.
I believe g-ayfr was the Dan-Air London Nord 262 that was operating around the 1970 era I think. I have found this…

Or a 747, even?
Just for you Pee Dee….Alpha Fox (in Landor) being towed into TBB circa 1992.
Trident-man, is that the first jet conversion of the Aviation Traders Carvair in the background? 😎
I quite liked the early Air France Concorde livery, myself.
Oh not at all. IMO, not nearly as repetitive as the endless stream of souless twin engine pod ‘Airboemb’ types we see on here;)
I second that thought! Modern airliners may be more commercially efficient and safer but their generic look is not asthetically pleasing. They are without soul. :p.
when will chaps stop deluding themselves looks have nothing to do with dating
most women would date quasimodo if he was loaded !!
Power and money are a big attraction to men too surly? , it’s not just women. :p

I have a feeling I saw this Concorde permanently parked at Paris Orly back in the early 1980s and still in this original AF livery.
The pic of the Swiss CL44 has so much interesting aeroplanes in it! Great. 🙂
Civilspotter…
I love your three middle-east nations 727s Alia, Kuwait and Iraqi.
The TWA is sweet as well. 🙂
As Longshot says, SABENA used them during the 1960s until (I believe) 1973 when they bought 737s.
