I have read many times of pilots complaining of having to send their licences to the CAA for checking/renewal and having to wait for weeks. Didn’t he have to send his in to be checked? If so the forgeries must have been good or not checked?
mmitch.
In fairness he wouldn’t have had to send his in as there would have been no record of him with the CAA for them to check. Is it common to have your licence checked?, only I’ve not come across this personally.
The pilot was Rick Volker and it was in Jerry Yagen’s newly restored BF109 G-4
Great, thank you for your answer.
Who was the pilot and where and when etc? Thanks
Amazing what can be done by confidence and bull****, people don’t seem to question people like that, they just take everything at face value.
Thank you for that gen Mark, what a shame about the lost provenance.
What happened to the one that didn’t go on to fly or museum display Mark?
The Emil restoration is currently subject to a multi part article in Flugzeug Classic. Fantastic what they are doing.
Can you get Flugzeug Classic in the U.K. ?, if so do you know where. Thanks
Looking forward to seeing it on display. I was at the museum this afternoon with my son. We really enjoyed it, great little museum.
Forgive me if this has been addressed before: do they have the “correct”/older style exhaust stacks? I remember her having six-a-side in photos taken before the current work got underway.
They had some 3 aside exhausts back in the early nineties/late eighties.
What happened to AD540?
Has he still got this one then Bruce?
So this is the one Peter Wood was rebuilding, does he have any other projects or are they all sold now?
Kodak bringing back 35mm again I read the other day.
She does look smart.
Whatever happened to that book idea, about MH434?
Good question, anyone know?
