Thanks TonyT, good to see the photos. Looking back to that time, nobody much wanted the stuff. It’s a bit like old bikes and cars, two a penny for fifties and early sixties things back then, but a fortune now.
Wulfie, just a thought, try Shobdon. Might be worth a phone call.
Thanks Mark12 for posting Spitfire remains photos. Amazing that there’s nothing left of the aluminium structure. Easier and lighter to carry off for scrap and more value I suppose.
Got to agree, a fantastic photo, thought it must have been large format, but didn’t realise it was that large. Thanks
Thanks Mark 12 re the spitfire information and thanks also to SeaDog, it’s good to hear the Kennet side of things. Much appreciated.
There was, but it has gone.
What happened to it ,does anyone know?
So is there a Spitfire out there as well?, going by the banter between Mark 12 and pat1968.
Funny that, I was listening on Radio 4 and not paying any attention but my ears pricked up when the commentary mentioned a Buccaneer going over. Thought I’d imagined it, but now confirmation.
Nice.:eagerness:
Early low horsepower flat four lycoming?
Would that be a genuine article?
Thanks guys and best wishes and a merry Christmas and happy new year to you all and everyone on here.:)
Yes I do , just polling your leg:)
Yes I believe it did
Normally he shouldn´t be allowed to keep his pilots licence after such an event (if he has one)!
you don’t need a pilot’s licence to drive a JCB:)
