Could be off a light aircraft.
Thanks for posting ,lovely aeroplane.Noticed the rev counter was fluctuating a fair bit though.
And a forthcoming one on the DH9……;)
How far away is this one from expected publishing date Andy?
If a Clerget or Rhone 130Hp had been located that was both available to be purchased and able to be restored within the available budget, then no doubt it would have been used. I think the Rotec 360 150HP has been selected with in depth consideration since the project commenced in 2000. The alternative would just be a non-flying replica.
So what would you prefer a non flying Strutter or a flying one with a radial engine?
As long as it is a flyer great, everything is a compromise so a radial has to suffice and no doubt it will be a lot more practical to use in the long run, well done to all concerned.

WIBAL?
At least I’m not the only one who can’t figure it out by the seem of things.
Very sorry to hear that.He came over as a great character on Ice Pilots.
Have a close look at the forty cowl…… 😉
No sorry, looked at the cowl, still can’t figure it out.
Ok thanks Jim. Well whoever owns it they certainly have a beauty,I have always thought that the early P40’s looked the best.
That’s a mighty fine looking P40 Jim.Who does it belong to?
According to the DGAC website, the registration of F-AZCU is current. It is registered to Denis Incenti at Tournus-Cuisery.
Thanks for that avion ancien.Good to know that she is current.
Hi Franck66 and Avion Ancien, just dug out the gen on Michel Berthelot’s Luciole, the reg was F-AZCU and it was featured in “Aviation and Pilote Prive”,front cover October 1985 issue,if that helps.I would be interested to know where it is now, thanks.
thanks for the comments about the photos
Sorry Sopwith I don’t know this Luciole , I know we have few Luciole in flight condition in France (4 or 5) and one in FLorida but this one is the last with a Salmson engine
I have a photo somewhere, will try to find it .I know that he rebuilt it and it got damaged shortly afterwards and he put it up for sale.that was late 1980’s if I remember correctly.I know that he lived not to far away from La Ferte-Alais if that helps and he was an airline engineer.
Does anyone know what happened to Michael Berthelot’s Luciole,it had a Renault engine fitted, not a radial like this one?
Yes I thought it was good.So that was Retrotec where she did the riveting was it? I wondered where it was, couldn’t quite make out what it said on the chaps overalls.
