What a sad day for all concerned, very sorry to hear the news.
Well Martin that point and shoot gives a good result.Very nice.
Have you had any luck yet in getting in touch with Barry? I can give him a bell if you like,if that helps.
Didn’t know there was a magazine called Yak 1:D:D
Have you any reason to believe he may have sold it?
Yes I have,as I saw an advert in GA buyer for a Slepcev Storch for sale where the owner stated that he also owns the original Storch at Old Warden.Just wanted to check if you guys had heard anything.
Personally I have always liked the look of it,always thought the piston engine looked better than the turbo-prop though.
Looks good, will it be purely photos or will there be text aswell?
It’s reported in a certain monthly mag that these 2 flyable aircraft built by ‘The Vintage Aviator’ team have been acquired for the museum and that there is a chance that they will be flown at a Shuttleworth display before being grounded. What a waste!
So are they really going to come,or is it supposition?.Any more news?
Well good luck with it AviationArtist I sincerely wish you all the best with it and at least it’s a tangible link with your school.Keep us posted please.
Well thanks guys, sorry to hear it was a washout, glad I didn’t make it but sorry for the collection, not a lot of luck this year so far for them.
Might be worth contacting one of it’s previous owners in the Forest of Dean.Tony Lydiart has sadly passed away a few years ago’ but Bruce is still about and he may be able to put you in the right direction.
How did it go?.I wanted to make it, but such a rotten day down here and 130+ mile drive to a possible no go put a damper on it for me I’m afraid.
I would go for the Watts aviation option myself, nice friendly people and probabley best price.
Always liked the colour scheme of G-FIRE,I flew up to Elstree with a mate in the summer of 1982 and she was in the hangar there and looked lovely in red.She also attended a few PFA rallies at Cranfield if I recall correctly and I seem to remember the white exhaust stacks, but never really thought about them till they were mentioned in this post.
My copy came from Amazon this morning, looking forward to opening it later this evening.
