India is building LCA, they are ” assembling” MKI. And they are working together with Russia. We have seen huge lists of Indian firms adding value to national and international projects. Maybe we can defend that they are not leading in some area’s but I feel no need to say that they are worser or better. Both nations are running at the same speed. El Khaled-Arjun. LCA-FC1. NukeANukeB. MissileA-MissileB. Both have lot of external input. One is China/Italy/US, the other Russoa/Israel etc. One side tells FC1 is much better. The other say the same about LCA. I think they both are doing pretty much the same and it is very difficult to say that one is ahead. One thing is sure. India puts more money to it and has more projects. It had less problems with boycots. Most projects are being developed and we need to wait before we can judge.

Thanks to our own efforts and US efforts in the past few years and in the next couple of years, Pakistan will be ahead of India in the following areas

    Submarines
    Tank fleet
    MPAs
    Attack Helicopters
    AWACS
    Air defence radars
    CWIS
    APCs/IFVs
    Self proplled artillery

Depending on the outcome of the F-16 decision and what block they will be, this lead may soon extend to frontline combat aircraft capable of matching the SU-30MKI

I would save the rolling eyes for later……

India bought UAV’s from Israel. It will have Arrow. It will have plenty other options like Ghorskov, Brahmos, Mig29, MKI etc etc. Can we skip the part that one is better then the other. Merci.

How come these kind of bas posts are deleted in Indian topics but are allowed to ruin this thread time over time? I ask people to calm down and return to normal posting and not sentimantal flames. Thanks in advance.

Why not adding SD-10 into the belly of the J10 like F/A18 or EF2000. That way you can reduce drag and RCS. And you get more wingstations for other goodies.

We all know the fake pics…

No need to post one liners guys. Let us return to normal.

I found this posted on Pakdef.
    >>>PAF wants close to 60 F-16 A/B and upgrade them to MLU-M2/3. MLU M3 makes F-16 JDAM and SLRAM munitions capable. It would take close to 10 months to upgrade one F-16 to MLU upgrade. MLU is no joke as one of the service tech told me “you run the F-16 through major blood transfusion and change its major organs.” They have to change the weight, structural, and to some degree aerodynamics of the original F-16 to bring upto MLU level.

Anyone can explain if there is more changed in MLU (cockpit) then the standard European MLU?

There is a lot of travelling between these two nations lately.

ISLAMABAD: A high-level defence delegation is visiting China early next month to further strengthen ties of the two countries in the field of defence and discuss enhancing of cooperation in it.

Senior Federal Minister and minister for defence Rao Siknadar Iqbal will lead the delegation and high officials of the three services will accompany the senior minister in ten-days trip of that country.

The highly placed official sources told The News here that Pakistan and China have planned to enter into joint production of most sophisticated high-tech weapons for the air and naval forces. The members of the delegation would work out details for the prospectus of cooperation in various areas. The delegation will visit certain defence installations and defence production units in China.

The visit of Pakistan’s delegation would have significant importance in the backdrop of the visit of the Indian army chief General Vijh who arrived in Beijing on Wednesday (yesterday). It is the first visit of an Indian army chief to China in more than ten years.

The defence delegation will have added importance because it is taking place in less than a month of the visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to China. Interestingly the Chinese Prime Minister is also visiting India towards the end of the first quarter of next year, sources added.

Pakistan and China are enjoying the best of the relations in the field of defence as China has helped Pakistan in all sorts of weathers. China is the one country that stood by Pakistan in the situation when all the potential friends tuned back to Pakistan in the hour of need. Pakistan and China are producing mid-tech multi-role aircraft for their air forces while Pakistan is acquiring destroyer ships from China for its navy. The ships would be later produced in Pakistan through transfer of technology.

A high level team from the Defence Production Division (DPD) is also visiting with the defence minister to China. The delegation will also visit number of defence installations apart from having trip to defence production units in that country that are not shown to the other country’s dignitaries. Both the countries are already cooperating with each other in manufacturing of traditional weapons. The volume of this cooperation would be expanded as the result of the visit, the sources said.

Both the countries are keen to boost the production in the areas where they are already cooperating with each other. Pakistan is interested in revamping of Heavy Mechanical Complex and modernising it in accordance to the new requirements.

    Are you seriously suggesting this?

The very fact that Indian forces are qualitatively and quantiatively superior to Pakistan several times over itself proves otherwise

To counter what? Shall we read the Indian newspaper and look at the results? Which nation is most talked about in India? Which nation is most fought against? Pretty much Pakistan oriented. And about qulaity and quantity. Why is India telling others that a few planes would make the impact huge? Now let me add a smiley. 😉

Guys, no need to become sentimental. It is a nice topic and let us keep it nice.

There are two sides. India and Pakistan.

India had/has/will have the quatitive advantage. We can not argue about that. 5 times bigger and probably 5 times stronger. India now has quality advantage. Look at the MKI, Brahmos, Mig29, Mirage 2000, Bison etc etc. And India is getting more and more (wishlist 125 mirage2000-5/Gripen/F16)/mig29sk/MKI) without the fact that Pakistan waking up everyone. It doesn’t care about it. It cannot so it has minimal deterrence.
Now the other side. Pakistan is smaller. It has been boycotted much monger while the other side started nuke testing. It has been a front against terrorism (whatever that may be). Now every small idea is being bashed by the neighbour that it might change the ballance. Which ballance? Quantity? I don’t think so. Quality? Well, the most modern they have are three decades old block 15 F16’s and no decent BVR or radar. At the same moment you can see MKI and mirage 2000 and many other exotic goodies going to find their way into IAF. And even if PAF gets newer versions of F16. Will that make IAF less effective? It may be countered more when attacking Pakistan. But if they both have nuclear weapons attached on ballistic missiles an a long border then what do these F16 add to that? A very little diversity? A kamikaze mission? So the propaganda and sentiment that PAF should get no advanced weapons is BS. The discussions about AMRAAM or JDAM are the same BS. If they not can be used against terrorism. Well. Why does India buy so many arms if they have only internal terrorism (haven’t seen external terrorism there)? Why were Mirage and PGM usded against small simple armed groups in Kashmir? Why is India buying latest UAV’s, missiles and planes? Just to find bad armed terrorists? I have the feeling if we ask why both nations are buying these things then it would be fair but one side is protected and the other side attacked several times. That doesn’t make the discussion valuable. So let us return to non political and purely technical side. And those posters that keep talking about high tech against low tech should try to understand warfare these days. The US uses high tech. Why? To minimize their losses. And they have their F16’s armed with AMRAAM while the Iraci’s have no planes there. Why to protect if something might happpen. And please look at the other side when you are judging. Appreciated.

I meant replacing block 15 F16 (with Falcon up only). I did not say MLU + AMRAAM.
