Na. I do not want to put hatred on the Indian side. They are just a part of the problem the brits created. And like any other nations they wish that their wished are realized… I rather look at the outside world that acts now on a very discriminating way. I am happy that India and Pakistan seem to come closer and hope that India looks beyond the handshake of US. That the world is more aware of bad Pakistani facts and less about Indian actions is the result of bad governance and PR from pakistani side.
Sanctioning then was indeed creating millions of enemies. Now.. At this moment they openly favour co-operation India (to counter China) and offer them not only high tech research and products but at the same time outdated F16’s for Pakistan are put on the table and checked whether they do not start new flame. Just right now the def secr Rocca told Pakistan to be nice to India and offered India newest weapons. If even Musharraf asked for more up to date defence technology and it is clearly not tilting the ballance then what has the US learned from their past mistake? And if both have nuclear armed missiles within a few minutes to their final destiny then what does it matter? Or do they still stab in the back of their favourite allies?
The the air fight is indeed a lost battle. But there are more battlegrounds.
Knowing that even in western tactics the loss of entire squadron against one AWACS is considered a good trade… Why not the same way against aircraftcarrier? Looking at the past both nations have heroic (and dead) pilots who showed that they can expect the ultimate.
Without blaiming India and Pakistan. The Kashmiri are divided by two nations (India and Pakistan). Instead of solving it they fought wars. Now that seems to have changed. Wise developments. About the past. The comment that Pakistan is sending help to the Kashmiri rebels. Well. The Us is supporting many rebels all over the world. If they cannot understand the history then I hope for them that they focus on US economy rather flaming around on the rest of the world. Past showed that it was the US that was using mass destruction and favourably outside US… I hope that India and Pakistan can solve their dispute without US. I hope that India is aware of the positive gestures from US. It is just to counter China.

mushaq has different main gear…

India will have very nice AWACS in the near future. They will know realtime every movement. Same goed for Pakistani Erieye if that will go ahead. With India having very good air and ground picture of entire Pakistan I doubt they will fall in a trap at sea. As in the past India would not risk such important asset like aircraftcarrier.
Ok, let us not fix on Pakistan. What other nation will be the topic then? I don’t think one or two aircraftcarriers and a few akula’s will make nations turn around. I see 5 pages about how impossible it is to attack a carrier. And how un-upgraded non bvr harrier will win from hit and run mirage… It is amusing to see on poster adding mig29 and MKI… Why not see the whole picture? Why not judge the aircraftcarrier? Why not see a huge border and mobile nukes? If we move away from harrier-mirage then we can say… If one of the two will get attacked then we can say that both will be reduced to ashes. Both governments have said that openly. I am not taking sides and I do believe them both. Knowing that missiles have minimum reaction times and even less flying time… No Akula can go nearer to that….
Dude… The reaction time is just a few minutes. The fall out is dangerous. Even if one nation totally eradicates the offensive assets of the other then it will have to accept the disasters after the attack… It is MAD without delay. With both nations having enough mobile nuclear missiles… And low reaction time… The second strike asset is less important then US and USSR scenario.
It is just a superpower window dressing. No tactical use if the counter force has enough subs to counter it. And even nuclear subs have no important scenario. So the Akula will go near Karachi and fire nuclear missiles or cruise missiles? Will the answer be different or slower if the missiles are launched near Waqahborder dorected to Islamabad? I do not think so. I would indeed invest more info gathering and defensive equipment and stop buying superpower titles. Even against China it is the same untactical situation. The problem is that these ideas are from islands (US/UK/Japan) that needed airfields near the enemy and used heavy force to steal the land…
Somehow the topic has moved to India being superior. I doubt that. Somehow people started about aircraft carrier being superior if used in this conflict. I doubt that. And somehow we have to return to a fictive fight between defending harrier and attacking mirage 3… Leave the Barak. Leave the exocet. If mirage can lauch then the Harrier lost the game… The Harriers are not aware of where the Mirages are. The Mirages pop up, launch the Matra and leave the arena asap.
Matter of time before no pilot is needed. UAV is gathering info. UAV are pounding gound targets. UAV will fight a2a inthe future. Would US risk 100 million plane and pilot to a few UAV’s?

One aircraft carrier does not make a huge advantage when the rest of the nation is just having thousands of kilometers border. The advantage is that US can fight somewhere on the globe. For India fighting against Pakistan with an aircraftcarrier is unlogical. It is like flying the Indian AWACS above Pakistan… Not the tactical move… And besides that… If US and USSR were neighbours… If USSR would have brought their offensive weapons near US.. Do you think US would not threaten to nuke USSR? (You guys are old enough to remember Cuba crises) Somehow some posters still think that the bigger party has the upperhand. It has not. It is equal. How difficult it may sound… No one will win.
sens,
BS. I posted it just for others to share. If that is difficult for your ego then don’t read. I saw the story in Hindustan Times. Or should I ask you personal next time? Whether it is clain or not… I don’t care. I did add question mark by Matra… For the rest it is not much different then other funny journalism from that region.
