Personally I think that the US is delivering small goodies. Even though F16 won’t make a big deal (ballance BS) the reaction of India won’t be positive. The US needs India to counter China (ad usual anti commi attitude). Pakistan is repeating it cause one never knows what is in the pudding (most favourite ally)… The fact that test pilots are to China to test J10 is a clear sign. If F16 then handy if not then who cares.

As usual the Indians claim that Fc1 will get worser. Anyway… Golden arrow… The AFM of this months tells you that the Chinese have done very well at the moment. So more then Six months later the avionics are improved and PAF is accepting them. Adding to that the less time (development and integration of avionics and weapons) needed to get decent planes up and running… You guys seem not to accept reality.

Looking at the similarity between Pakistan and bangladesh Airforces there is a big chance for BD Fc1. They both have f7, f6, J5, A5… Paf did transfer F6 to BD and I will not be shocked ig the F7p or PG will be sold to BD if FC1 arrives. Here one of the Ex paf planes…

    anyway:

The F-6 was first inducted immediately after the 1965 War. The PAF recieved approximately 100 of these fighters and ever since have acquired it to be the mainstay fighter that replaced the F-86 Sabre. The F-6 saw much action in the 1971 conflict and emerged as one of the top scorer’s of the war. More F-6s were inducted in the 70s until the 80s. However the aircraft was an obsolete design and was soon earmarked to be phased out. The last F-6 was finally retired in 2002.

During this period, a total of 258 F-6s have served with the PAF since the 60s. Of these five have been lost in combat in 1971. About 50 odd have been ‘donated’ to the Bangladesh Air Force where they were written off in a tropical storm even before they were unpacked from thier crates. A number of these F-6s found thier way to Gate Guardian duties.

A smaller nation allways keeps it very secret. One day Israel had a lot of planes to fight against the Arabs. No one knew exactly how many… That was part of their superiority. Now it is about Pakistan and Nitin and close friends are thinking that Pakistan that is the smaller and defending part will show all the data… Man, there must be a new era. :dev2:

Phil, I don’t know how it is where you are stationed but in some nations that are in hot zone no one knows what the stocks are. You want Pakistan to give a daily list to you? 😉 If that is so logical for you then you might end up in Utopiastan.

looking at the fact that this news is posted and discussed before it seems funny to me that again Indian posters see it as a bad move…. I can understand that making planes isn’t simple. We saw how long it took to make Ef2000 (a… You thought I would use …) The first 50 JF17 will have chinese avionics and radar. Why? Cause it speeds up the production time. All planes will have the same radar and avionics which are working and were tested in J10. It means not only compatibility but also less integration tests and no problem with fitting SD10. This paper plane is on fastest mode to enter operational status. Not another billion dollars costing testplane that only flies in a few dreams. And can we stop about telling that Chinese avionics are inferior? Or trying to push that indirectly? They are fine…

No one complained about the first ADV tornado’s flying around without radar… No one complained the F7pg flying around without radar… But now suddenly a medium tech plane gets chinese radar and it is worldnews…

as long as they sell it then what is wrong with it? Marketing is everything. Why building a plane with billions of dollars and not able to sell one…

How much lanes per production line? 15? Even then it might just satisfy Chinese needs…

This is one of the reasons why I would not buy weapons that are full “political packages”, ie all their parts are produced in that country, this is why I think some countries should stay away from weapons that would require many foreign parts in them like LCA, J-10 and FC-1(Russian weapons probably), Golden Eagle & CQ(American weapons, avionics and engines of course and such) and to some extend the Gripen. Best to go with something thats not made in many different countries like Russian, American or French fighters.

The whole marketing idea of Fc1 is that you can add what you want. If Russian weapons are not ok then why not chinese or SA? But thinking we can buy one nation plane at the moment is a bit silly…

Let us remind that the US is opening channels for co-operation and products… We have heard about F16’s and patriots… Why not moving towards more advanced planes in the future? MCA and Pak Fa are not flying products at the moment. We were talking about LCA replacing Mig21 Bison. Now they moght be another plane…

Excuse me but are the intakes big enough to feed two engines? If there is a lot designed for the stealth purpose then where is the internal bay? And what is the range of this plane?

I don’t think they have just a few. They have a large batch of mirages special made for launching it. They have even sub based version. There were no boycots… I do not see why you wanna go into details if on your side no eidence or logic is given. So tell my… Why are there just a few and probably old missiles? 😉

To be honest with you I think a lot of products are being assembled. Some are improved and exported. But assembling these products is still achievement. About the Grifo. They do the same. The plan was to have fully TOT for the JF17 Grifo. It is less important now cause PAF is satisfied with Chinese versions. Saves time to integrate avionics and BVR (same avionics as j10 and the well known sd10). I think Pakistan will get more into aviation electronics in around 4 years (Islamabad university run-up time and first 50 JF17 local production planes). In the UAV buss we can say that besides the body most parts are inported. This is not strange cause there are a lot of companies that offer pretty decent electronic equipment. Putting them together and making it work is very difficult. I think Pakistan has made some remarkable improvement in that sector. Looking at the international developments they are focussing on the lower/medium tech market. They are now busy with marketing tankproducts and UAV’s. Within a few years they will market medium tech Jf17.

    Are BVR missiles included?
