Dassault will go on into next generation with Rafale and probably futrher if cash comes available. Saab has produced it last generation. I think one has to take that into the conclusion.

    yeah sure…. 😀 don’t need them…. don’t require them….. 😀

just need a fighter called FC-1….. and when engaged in a fight…. just need to shout on the mic “hey !!! its THE FC-1 here….”
and all the fighters, Su-30mki included, will run away…… 😀

and yes…. IRST, Air to air refuelling, auxilary air-intake, foldable wings are WWII vintage….. “ANCIENT”

    and compared to the MiG-29K, Su-30MKI, the FC-1 is the ultra-modern fighter….. 😀

EDIT: err… forgot to add…. that the FC-1 is modern because it is not ancient and does not have any of the features that “ANCIENT” fighters have….
also since it is modern…. it humbles the raptor, JSF, F-117 etc…. by quite a wide margin due to its low RCS…..

also the drag of FC-1 is so reduced that its Cd~0.000000000000000001 and this allows the FC-1 to have unimaginable range……. 😀

Nirav no need to bring in the FC1. You can defend mig29K very easy but attacking fc1 is just simple flaming…

Before I add to a flame. I just read the Mig29 article in the magazine (flight?) International. The Mig29 is awesome. Man one should copy those Indian paintings and post it here. I enjoyesd reading it. They have even two different options for wingfolding just to make max use of the deck. And the weapon suit is just fine. I still had a question about fueltanks. IS there an option for that or is e.q. the belly tank not an option?

There is a difference between a risk version or intels instruction set. Military chips are simpler, more robust and have to counter many forces… So not only a lot of instructions but some extra conditions. Intel can just throw in a new chip like Windows does with XP. You just don’t do that with a high end weapon system.

From wheel falling off… To electrical failure… to compressor failure. Hope that they will find the problem and solve it so no other pilots have to face it.

I have the details but frankly after your flame in the other topic I rather stay low. One cannot expect full service and kick from the back. 😉

5th crash since 1987… Wow. That 17 years. Anyway. One can say plane numero 3 in a month. That does sound very unhealthy. It is indeed a nice pic.

its unlikely that China will 1000 FC-1s…

its more like up to 20 FC-1s for the PLAAF Acrobatic Teams for October 1st National Day and August 1st PLA Day.

    :p :dev2:

China would be buying more J-10s (something like 600 or more for both the PLAAF and PLAN).

I have read all your posts. Is there a reason why they open a production line. Are committed to get the same amount as PAF. And you still post no FC1 for PLAAF…

But what is going on with the landing gear of mirages lately?

Mirage crashes near Gwalior, pilots safe
    ——————————————————————————–

    Tuesday, October 12, 2004 (Gwalior):

A Mirage 2000 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed soon after take off from the Maharajpur airbase today. Both the pilots ejected safely.

The mishap occurred between 11.30 am and 11.40 am (IST).

The fighter was returning to Gwalior Air Base on detection of some technical problem soon after take-off. But the pilots found that the aircraft would not be able to make it to the airfield, and decided to eject.

There was no loss of human lives as the aircraft was crashed at an isolated place.

    ‘Wheels fell off’

“Preliminary information shows that the wheel of the Mirage aircraft fell off immediately after it took off from Maharajpur Air Force base here,” said Additional District Magistrate R K Jain.

The crash took place during a joint exercise with the Singapore Air Force. Jain said the joint exercise ‘Ankush’ was unaffected by the mishap. The joint exercises, which started two days ago, is scheduled to continue till October 27.

This is the second crash involving a Mirage in the past three weeks as on September 23, another aircraft, which left the airbase for a practice interception sortie, had crashed after developing the same problem. (PTI)
